Historia
High up on the windswept cliffs of Pale Peak, Faye and Felix celebrate their new engagement. But soon, a chorus of ghastly noises erupts from the nearby woods: the screams of animals, the cries of children, and the mad babble of a hundred mournful voices. A dark figure looms near the windows in the dead of night, whispering to Faye. As the weather turns deadly, Felix discovers that his terrified fiancée isn't just mumbling in her sleep—she's whispering back.

HORRIBLE male narrator. Very distracting!
Revisado: 06-12-21
No offense to this male narrator because I'm sure he would be fine for a different role but he was the antithesis of everything you hear in your mind when you hear the voice of Jericho. I can't imagine who possibly picked him to play this character. It was completely distracting for the entire book and I've never experienced that before to this extent. Other than that, the female voice was excellent and the story was pretty good. Not my favorite in the series but not bad.

I loved this book! I felt like I was traveling to exotic places as the author’s descriptions were so vivid. I really felt I knew these characters and even cried at the end along with them...happy tears...so grateful I have my own Alma Gemela!

I enjoyed this book and could relate to alot of it. I liked the story and the premise but I found it just a little hokey in the execution.

Amazing reminder to me that things happen for a reason
Revisado: 01-27-20
It’s almost 2 o’clock in the morning and I am awake and writing this review because I could not go to bed tonight until I finished listening to this book. Not only was this story touching and poignant but it was such an intricately woven plot that kept my interest throughout and I became even more intrigued as the plot unfolded. I honestly can’t even remember the last time a book made me cry the way this one did. Yes, it was essentially a story about war and the characters it affects, but it was so much more than that. It was an honest, memorable, and chillingly beautiful reminder to me that perhaps I had forgotten that there is a much bigger picture and a plan for each of us and the people we love...reasons beyond what we can comprehend at the time for why things in our lives happen the way they do. Sometimes things are so painful or nonsensical that we don’t think we can heal and get past them but this book amazingly was able to remind me that there is strength in knowing that there is something bigger happening. For me, this story was about love, connections we make, choices we make, mistakes and regrets, forgiveness, faith in other people and most importantly faith that everything in our lives is unfolding exactly the way it is supposed to...that we are all pieces of a much larger tapestry. This book will stay with me for a long time and I think I will probably listen to it again the next time I forget…

Enjoyed this book
Revisado: 01-25-20
I liked this book, very good premise, but I didn’t give it five stars because towards the end, you start to get very frustrated with the characters for not seeing what’s right in front of their faces. Also very predictable.

A little too “who done it” for me
Revisado: 01-24-20
This book was fairly entertaining but not my usual style of genre. I generally steer clear of typical who done it types of mysteries. It was ok though.

Historia
Cassie McDowell’s life in 1980s Minnesota seems perfectly wholesome. She lives on a farm, loves school, and has a crush on the nicest boy in class. Yes, there are her parents’ strange parties and their parade of deviant guests, but she’s grown accustomed to them. All that changes when someone comes hunting in Lilydale. One by one, local boys go missing. One by one, they return changed - violent, moody, and withdrawn. What happened to them becomes the stuff of shocking rumors. The accusations of who’s responsible grow just as wild, and dangerous town secrets start to surface.

Historia
Hen and her husband, Lloyd, have settled into a quiet life in a new house outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Hen (short for Henrietta) is an illustrator and works out of a studio nearby and has found the right meds to control her bipolar disorder. Finally, she’s found some stability and peace. But when they meet the neighbors next door, that calm begins to erode as she spots a familiar object displayed on the husband’s office shelf. The sports trophy looks exactly like one that went missing from the home of a young man who was killed two years ago.

Loved this book
Revisado: 01-20-20
Well I probably shouldn’t say I loved it but I really liked it a lot. Definitely kept my interest through the whole thing and I definitely wasn’t expecting the twist towards the end which I always love because I can usually predict what’s going to happen and I love when I can’t. I’m definitely going to check out more by this author.
