Historia
The worst thing to ever happen on Hemlock Circle occurred in Ethan Marsh’s backyard. One July night, ten-year-old Ethan and his best friend and neighbor, Billy, fell asleep in a tent set up on a manicured lawn in a quiet, quaint New Jersey cul-de-sac. In the morning, Ethan woke up alone. During the night, someone had sliced the tent open with a knife and taken Billy. He was never seen again. Thirty years later, Ethan has reluctantly returned to his childhood home. Plagued by bad dreams and insomnia, he begins to notice strange things happening in the middle of the night.

Good listen
Revisado: 07-19-24
This book held my attention - I really wanted to listen forward to figure out what was going on but stopped myself.
The narrator is talented, I liked him. He did the different voices well, however, sometimes he sounded like the Snagglepuss cartoon character. :)

Historia
When Margaret and her husband Hal bought the large Victorian house on Hawthorn Street—for sale at a surprisingly reasonable price—they couldn’t believe they finally had a home of their own. Then they discovered the hauntings. Every September, the walls drip blood. The ghosts of former inhabitants appear, and all of them are terrified of something that lurks in the basement. Most people would flee. Margaret is not most people. Margaret is staying.

Historia
Daisy is a girl coming of age in LA in the late '60s, sneaking into clubs on the Sunset Strip, sleeping with rock stars, and dreaming of singing at the Whisky a Go Go. The sex and drugs are thrilling, but it’s the rock and roll she loves most. By the time she’s 20, her voice is getting noticed, and she has the kind of heedless beauty that makes people do crazy things. Also getting noticed is The Six, a band led by the brooding Billy Dunne.

The readers weren't so great
Revisado: 02-21-24
I loved this book and I really liked to television series, but the audiobook isn't at the same level. Some book readers make you believe the character is actually speaking; you can feel their emotions. In this audiobook I could "hear" the actors reading. It was distracting and a let down from what I expected. I couldn't get past the first chapter.

Not sure about this one.
Revisado: 02-16-23
Someone needs to explain the ending. The narrator was great, the book was okay. Not really scary. There was a lot going on that didn’t really add to the story so sometimes it was hard to follow.

Mara is insufferable.
Revisado: 04-27-22
Mara, the lead character in this story is a major pain in the rear end. Narration is good but the story wasn’t as engaging as I had hoped. I like Darcy Coates’s books, I think I would have liked the story better had I read the book instead.

So much potential
Revisado: 02-05-21
I choose this title because of the narrator and because the premise sounded interesting. The book stated good, dragged on forever in the middle, and ended quickly with too many unanswered questions all wrapped up in a bow.

Historia
When Barbara Walters launched The View, network executives told her that hosting it would tarnish her reputation. Instead, within 10 years, she’d revolutionized morning TV and made household names of her cohosts: Joy Behar, Star Jones, Meredith Vieira, and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. But the daily chat fest didn’t just comment on the news. It became the news. And the headlines barely scratched the surface. Based on unprecedented access, award-winning journalist Ramin Setoodeh takes you backstage where the stars really spoke their minds.

Good book, the narration not so much
Revisado: 08-31-19
This book is very good but I don’t think I can finish this book, the narration is so bad. Sometimes it’s a better idea for an author to hire someone rather than do it himself. This is the case here. I’m going to go by the book and read it instead.
