Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

I've always enjoyed Matthews work on screen and thought he would be an interesting fellow to learn about. I was correct. Matthew is the definition of cool. The way he lives his life and even how he tells it. definitely worth wild reading.

found it a little difficult in the beginning as the story had multiple routes to follow. later on this all came together with a big twist at the end. I definitely recommend.

Senseless violence, Eating people, Destruction
Revisado: 01-03-21
The beginning plot of this book is well thought out. The story overall could be greatly improved (imo) by removing the graphic violence violence. Not sure if there is a large audience for this. It seemed to me that the author used these events to fill the pages more than to improve the story. I got about 3/4 through this by fast forwarding the death and destruction. Then I gave up.

The year is 1970. Emma Gable, a blind teenager coming of age in a small industrial town in Western New York, is about as far from the seismic cultural transformations rocking campuses and city streets across America as a person can get. Emma escapes the chaos of her dysfunctional family by dialing up random numbers on the phone in her bedroom, just to see who'll answer.

Enjoyable except. . .
Revisado: 08-30-20
Since I lived through the 1970's I could relate to the tech of this story. Plus my father worked with some of this equipment in his line of work. My big disappointment in the story is how writers find it necessary to push the gay agenda. Is it a recruiting tool? The gay population makes up 2% of our country yet appears in >70% of "entertainment" media. I felt the story was well acted and presented including the background activity, which, I feel adds to the storytelling. If you don't like that sort of presentation then this may not be for you.

Thirty years ago, Wilde was found as a boy living feral in the woods, with no memory of his past. Now an adult, he still doesn't know where he comes from, and another child has gone missing. No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father - with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde - with whom she shares a tragic connection - to use his unique skills to help find Naomi.

I really enjoy a well told story. All the characters are believable with each playing a strong part in the story. I have heard many of Harlan's books. This one has a different flavor than the first several books. I like it and hope he continues in this refined & creative mode

From a female administrator's view point
Revisado: 05-19-20
I am not saying this is bad or good it just is. The story is heavily weight towards the administration of super heroes for hire. Lots of admin and logistics. The epic battle is feminine and cute. I gave up 2/3rds through the story but that is me.

WARNING Abject Violence in detail
Revisado: 02-09-20
Introducing a nice successful family with 2 little girls only to violently and sadistically kill them off IS NOT to be considered good entertainment. And this is within the first 30 minutes. This is NOT entertainment and NOT something I want in my head. Make your own decision.

I appreciate the clarity
Revisado: 01-24-20
Just as the title states I learned about mindfulness and the practical application of meditation from this book. I had practiced meditation off and on but always wanted to know more about the how and why of it all. This book cleared that all up for me and guided me in a better application of my skills. This book is well worth your time.
