Historia
Inside the walls of Arlington Hall, a former women's college in Virginia that has been taken over by the United States Army, hundreds of men and women sit, bent over stacks of paper. Pencils in hand, they labor to decode countless pieces of communication coming from the Axis powers. Justine works among them, handling the most sensitive secrets of World War II. But she isn't there to decipher German codes. She's there to find a traitor.

Another great one by Mary Anna Evans!
Revisado: 07-22-23
Evans always writes using strong & intelligent female characters. This WWII tale has lots of twists & turns that keeps you guessing till the end. Evans’ work is always impeccably researched & I always learn something new. For the audible version there were a lot of characters. I finally wrote a crib sheet to help me keep everyone straight. Highly recommend!

Still a great book! An inspiration for girls.
Revisado: 09-01-18
The last time I read this book was in the late 50s. I think I read the entire series. Nancy was independent, smart and clever. She not only could solve mysteries but could change a tire, pick a lock and do boat repairs. This audio version was a joy with a great narration. although originally written in 1930, the story doesn't seem terribly dated. Nancy was a hero to so many!

Historia
For the last five years, James and Deborah Fallows have been traveling across America in a single-engine prop airplane. Visiting dozens of towns, they have met hundreds of civic leaders, workers, immigrants, educators, environmentalists, artists, public servants, librarians, businesspeople, city planners, students, and entrepreneurs to take the pulse and understand the prospects of places that usually draw notice only after a disaster or during a political campaign. The America they saw is acutely conscious of its problems, but it is also crafting solutions.

Terrific book!
Revisado: 05-11-18
Other reviews have detailed the basics of this book. However it is more than just a fascinating travelogue. The smart and articulate authors explored and researched the towns they visited to find out what worked and what didn't. The result is a study that should be read and absorbed by civic leaders, planners, economic development types as well as citizens at large.
I listened to the Audible version which was read by the authors, but was so impressed I've ordered the book also. The story of the development of the book was featured on CBS's Sunday Morning last week. A terrific read, highly recommended!

Revisado: 03-27-18
Palmeri wrote this to a future female president but her sage advice applies to all women trying to move forward. She talks of the changing political landscape and the events of the 2016 campaign. The book is inspirational and hopeful however. I loved It!
