Historia
The day before Yom Kippur, the synagogue sound system is on the blink, the floral arrangements are in disarray, and a member of Rabbi David Small’s congregation—in the Massachusetts town of Barnard’s Crossing—is terribly concerned with how much a Torah weighs. The rabbi is determined not to let these mundane concerns ruin his day of prayer and contemplation. But the holiest day of the Jewish year is interrupted when a member of the congregation is found dead in his car.

You don't need to be Jewish to enjoy the story.
Revisado: 01-31-16
Any additional comments?
Kemelman shares a little known niche of our society. Who understands the Jew? These Rabbi stories are marvelous in opening a window to a world so little explored. The explanations interwoven with the story bring a whole other view point of life as seen by the Hebrew people. These stories are presented in away that gives readers the option of following conventional thought or you can try to adapt to the Rabbi's thinking. Both are strains of thought are convincing but only one can be right. No one else on the planet could do these narrations and give them due justice as George Guidall's does. I would listen to Mr. Guidall read a telephone book.

Everyone knows the story-how Arthur pulled the sword from the stone, how Camelot came to be, and about the power struggles that ultimately destroyed Arthur's dreams. But what of the time before Arthur and the forces that created him?

Not another Arthur Story
Revisado: 09-13-13
What did you love best about The Skystone?
I didn't want to hear just another Arthur story. This is a Roman to Britain transitional story. I very much enjoyed the flow of the story. I enjoyed the historical detail. When places and buildings are described I recognized them from accounts of archeological diggings.
What did you like best about this story?
The flow and it's ties to historical accounts and legends.
Have you listened to any of Kevin Pariseau’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I love Kevin's performance. All of his performances are his best!

Thrilling Story Line in a Tough Genre
Revisado: 05-03-12
Taylor Anderson's highly imaginative story/series is made even more exciting and entertaining by William Dufris's interruptive reading. This genre of alternate earth is a tough one to keep fresh. With thrilling action, despicable villains, humorous situations, lovable characters and plot twists keeps this book/series moving along. William Dufris's imaginative character/creature voices puts this reading experience on a higher plain. I often find myself taken into the action or chuckling to a situation. I look forward to each book.

All My Children Go to Washington
Revisado: 03-08-11
If you like dialogue where people are hard of hearing "wait, say that again" or refuse to pay attention to each other, and will argue that what they have just found out is what is really important and not the other guys discovery, you will love this book. I was intrigued with the History Channel's show in which Mr. Meltzer told the foundational story of the original spy ring. I was sadly left wanting by the book. On the other hand Scott Brick's performance was incredible! I sense he had a great time doing the narration. Mr. Brick's performance is animated as well as passionate. Truly the only reason I bothered to finish the book (other then I had paid for it) was Mr. Brick's performance. My opinion boils down to that I did not enjoy the literary strategy and techniques that Mr. Meltzer employed. I did get a kick out of the notion that a 72 year-old, blind in one eye guy did drives a blue mustang.

Historia
The Ankh-Morpork Post Office is running like...well, not at all like a government office. The mail is delivered promptly. Postmaster General Moist von Lipwig, former arch-swindler and confidence man, has exceeded all expectations - including his own. So it's somewhat disconcerting when Lord Vetinari summons Moist to the palace and asks, "Tell me, Mr. Lipwig, would you like to make some real money?"

Amazing, yet again
Revisado: 10-24-07
The fertile imagination of Terry Pratchett brought another side splitting story. The humor is fast paced and its worth a second listen to catch the one liners that you miss the first time.
