Historia
Riley Kennedy’s emails keep getting crossed with her male colleague, Kennedy Riley. The infuriating man forwards them along with his annoying commentary and unsolicited advice. At least she never has to see him in person, since they work in different locations…until they come face to face at the office holiday party.

Historia
They say first loves are oftentimes the end of one’s innocence. Those words couldn’t ring truer for Everlynne Lawson, whose first brush with romance came with a heartbreak…and the thing that seems to follow her everywhere she goes. Death. After a great tragedy, Everlynne loses all she cares about—her dreams, her family, and her soulmate, Joe. Guilt-ridden, Everlynne decides to isolate herself in Salem, Massachusetts.

It’s meh- not L.J. Shens best.
Revisado: 02-24-23
I love L.J. Shen, and usually her books are the right amount of angst for me without going overboard. This one missed the mark for me. While it was still a touching story overall, the FMC was too angst and self loathing, which brought the whole story way down. I found myself constantly wishing she would just get over herself and buy a clue. The ending helped makeup for it some, but not quite enough to rate this as anything but average.

Historia
I wasn’t supposed to be on that roof on Valentine’s Day. Neither was Kellan Marchetti, the school’s designated freak. We met on the verge of ending our lives. Somehow, the tattered strings of our tragedies tangled and tightened into an unlikely bond. We decided not to take the plunge and agreed to check on each other every Valentine’s Day until school ended. Same time. One roof. Two restless souls. We kept our promise for three years.

Unique and beautifully told

Really loved this book. It is different than most romance stories out there, and not for that faint of heart. Highly recommend.

Historia
The Sweet Potato Queens' Guide to Raising Children for Fun and Profit is a hilarious (though not scientifically tested) wink at the time-honored mysteries of parenting. For anybody who has ever had a kid or has ever known one, knows that the experience is neither fun nor profitable - so, you might as well laugh!

Not a let down
Revisado: 09-12-10
Having listened to other SPQ audiobooks, I can safely say that the Guide to Raising Children for Fun and Profit was on par with the rest. Jill Conner-Brown never fails to entertain me. An excellent blend of humor, entertainment, and advice; her material is relevant and witty. Her voice also adds to the material with it's soothing southern lilt. The recipes are actually quite good, to boot.

Couldn't finish it
Revisado: 08-30-10
It dragged. And dragged. And dragged. I think the story line was unique, but there was nothing there to capture me, nothing that made me want to keep listening. Add with that the reader's bland, intonation-less, and grating voice, and I simply couldn't finish.
