Historia
In this must-listen book for anyone striving to succeed, pioneering psychologist Angela Duckworth shows parents, educators, students, and businesspeople - both seasoned and new - that the secret to outstanding achievement is not talent but a focused persistence called "grit". Why do some people succeed and others fail? Sharing new insights from her landmark research on grit, MacArthur "genius" Angela Duckworth explains why talent is hardly a guarantor of success.

During the many decades of the author's clinical psychiatric practice, the primary aim was to seek the most effective ways to relieve human suffering in all of its many forms. The inner mechanism of surrender was found to be of great practical benefit and is described in this book.

The book will be more interesting for those who is fond of Irvin and Marilyn personally, as there is much recallings of their life, friends and works. I was expecting more of universal approach though.

It takes much time to get used to author's prononcuation at first. Sometimes there are moments which sound like inserted clips. Besides that, content is great.

I was quite surprised to find out almost all the content of the book is a copypasting from the podcast... Moreover, the podcast is more entertaining and enjoyable thanks to audio producing. And it's free! So no point in buying this issue :(

Good text, sad speech
Revisado: 01-26-20
The performer's voice is quite robotic, I could have used Google text-to-speech feature with similar results.
The story is interesting and engaging though, one will notice many his own traits in described issues. Sometimes author makes narcissists look like the one and only evil on the planet Earth, but it's okay if taken with a pinch of salt.

Revisado: 01-06-20
There should be a big disclaimer on the cover about author's addiction to astrology, taro cards, energy levels and white supremacy problems. It's hard to relate seriously to the main content of the book because of it. You can skip the last chapter though and try your best.
Be aware that author's "drinking problem" is one drink in a month.
