Our first responders are uniquely strong, brave, and emotionally flexible. They are called to support us on the worst days of our lives. They see and hear things that are burned into their memories forever. They see the worst in humanity and then do their best to be a loving partner, parent, and friend.

Revisado: 12-08-24
I just finished Relentless Courage: Winning The Battle Against Frontline Trauma on Audible and all I can say is WOW!. Michael Sugrue and Doc Springer did an amazing job. This book is an absolute eye opener. Sgt. Michael Sugrue - Ret. opens up about his battle with PTS not just the trauma that he experienced while on duty but the institutional trauma that he experienced while seeking help to get his mind right. I highly recommend the book to all of my first responder friends and veteran friends who have experienced trauma.

Historia
Inspired to serve his country after watching the World Trade Center collapse, Dexter is critically wounded by a roadside bomb blast at the hands of insurgents in Abu Ghraib, Iraq. His physical wounds push him to his limits as he recovers, but his mental and emotional wounds from the battlefield prove to be just as tough to overcome. A failed first marriage, medically retired from the army at 22, stripped of his identity as a soldier, and thrust back into civilian life, he has to construct a new life for himself.

Semper Fidelis is not just a catch phrase.
Revisado: 03-07-22
As a retired Marine myself I am proud to know that people like GySgt Bussler exist. A duty that no one wants to do but is necessary during the time of war or conflict. The attention to detail and pride that this MA team took to ensure the families of the fallen would have their loved one home is beyond measure. I am proud to call Chris my friend and am glad that people like him cared for the fallen Marines of 3/8 in 2005 Fallujah, Iraq and 2006 Ramadi, Iraq. Thank you Chris for having the strength and courage to share this with the World.

In the military, a field manual provides instructions in simple, clear, step-by-step language to help soldiers complete their mission. In the civilian sector, books offer information on everything from fixing a leaky faucet to developing an effective workout program to cooking a good steak. Leadership Strategy and Tactics explains how to take leadership theory, quickly translate that theory into applicable strategy, and then put leadership into action at a tactical level. This audiobook is the solution that leaders at every level need.

Amazing book. After Extreme Ownership and Dichotomy of Leadership I was looking for another book by Jocko and this one popped up. This further emphasized that the lesson learned while serving in the Marine Corps can be applied to my normal day to day life.

Historia
In 2012, on his third tour of duty in Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device left Dan Crenshaw's right eye destroyed and his left blinded. Only through the careful hand of his surgeons, and what doctors called a miracle, did Crenshaw's left eye recover partial vision. And yet, he persevered, completing two more deployments. Why? There are certain stories we tell ourselves about the hardships we face—we can become paralyzed by adversity or we can adapt and overcome. We can be fragile or we can find our fortitude. Crenshaw delivers a set of lessons to help you do just that.

Historia
The Code of the Extraordinary Mind is a blueprint of laws to break us free from the shackles of ordinary life. It makes a case that everything we know about the world is mostly decided not by rational choice but instead by conditioning and habit. And thus most people live their lives based on limiting rules and outdated beliefs about pretty much everything - love, work, money, parenting, sex, health, and more - that they inherit and pass on from generation to generation.
