Writing style simplistic. Voice sometimes annoying
Revisado: 11-22-17
The writing style is too simplistic. Way too many things are described with over-the-top superlatives. The protagonist is a little too one-dimensional and when he whines and complains the performer's voice is grating. I almost quit the book. I switched from listening to reading (Kindle version) for a while to see if it was the performer's voice I didn't like or the writing. I'm undecided. I should have quit when the protagonist was saved by dolphins, but I did skim to the end - not a good use of time. The science and the process of discovery is also a big stretch.

Historia
In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Pretty good.
Revisado: 09-29-17
It was engaging but was starting to get predictable and repetitive by halfway through. I was wondering how many more of the little plot vignettes there would be before it wrapped up. It's been decades since I read the first and I think I'll wait at least a few months before reading/ listening to the third one.

Awful
Revisado: 11-25-15
Didn't care about the characters or the plot.
The interlude chapters of flowery language were extremely tedious.
