Historia
Piranesi lives in the House. Perhaps he always has. In his notebooks, day after day, he makes a clear and careful record of its wonders: the labyrinth of halls, the thousands upon thousands of statues, the tides that thunder up staircases, the clouds that move in slow procession through the upper halls. On Tuesdays and Fridays Piranesi sees his friend, the Other. At other times he brings tributes of food to the Dead. But mostly, he is alone.

Original story but found it a tough read
Revisado: 05-05-25
It’s a slow burn original story with just a few well defined characters. You keep on wandering when is the real action going to start - it will eventually towards the end of the book so be prepared for the wait.
Some very interesting ideas about the values of our society - it does make you think of how a simple life can be totally rewarding

Fast paced and thought provoking;
Revisado: 04-07-25
Tim Tigner did it again! A roller coaster of a story which is not just action but also about a deep thought provoking moral issues that keep you thinking and hanging on until the very last final word.
Realistic? Unlikely, but that’s not the point. Entertaining? Absolutely loved it!

Somewhat far fetched
Revisado: 01-25-23
Story was hardly believable and cannot see how a regular Jo dive instructor would unfoil a major terrorist attack.
There wasn’t much about diving either which is why I got the book

Good story that keeps you wanting more
Revisado: 11-25-21
Confusing at the beginning when all first person chartered “speak” with the same voice; a reader that can simulate different voices would have been better suited. In any event, once you get used to it you can focus on the story which is immaginative and keeps your interest.
I’ll definitely want to know more about how the story continues and will be getting the next book.

Gripping story keeps you on edge
Revisado: 05-12-21
Gripping story with plenty of twists and turns.
However narration was bland, not good with accents, the British one in particular not even close. “Cuoffee” sounds more from NY than from London.

Captivating family story
Revisado: 10-21-20
Although the book is about Miles Copeland it provides great insights about the family life of a successful spy. I enjoyed Stewart’s easy narration style and the great lengths he went through in order to bring a balanced perspective to his father’s work and legacy.
It’s an easy listen which kept me interested and entertained till the end.

Historia
A Sting in the Tale is the sort of book to listen to if you appreciate humor. However, if you are need of a humor transplant then, perhaps, this is not the book for you. This fully authorized memoir of Sting and Jim Berryman's time together is, indeed, a hilariously, eye-wateringly funny listen. Just imagine a P.G. Wodehouse book, and substitute Jeeves and Bertie Wooster with Sting and Jim and you'll have the right picture!

Mildly interesting and marginally related to Sting
Revisado: 09-08-19
Although Sting is mentioned often, this book is not about him; odd for a booked named after him.
Funny? Not really. Mostly inside jokes if they were part of your life, amusing perhaps but not a funny book. It takes stamina to get through it, always expected a reward for staying with it but it never comes!

Riveting story about “superhots” and human competition

There are many layers to this story and one aspect is about the insane drive to achieve something unique. However, we often forget that all unique, and often we are our worst critics.

Pointless story?
Revisado: 05-28-19
Narrator was good, credible inflections and accents but that is about it.
Story: did not really see the point of it, I know it’s fiction but it didn’t really take off in any exciting way, just a description of the boring life of a destructive “chest”.
The metaphors didn’t’ do anything for me; all in all a pretty shallow read.
