Great story showing how communication is key. We can’t make assumptions about what the other person is thinking. I loved both characters. It was a perfect love story with friends in the background. However, I almost didn’t finish the book. The female narrator sounded robotic at times. The male narrator sounded like he didn’t want to read this story. It takes about from the book. I am purchasing the hard copy to read myself. I feel horrible saying this, but it is the worst narration I’ve hard on audible.

It was so hard to guess where this story would take the listener. Unpredictable all the way to the end. However, I didn’t like how the ending seem unresolved, as if there should be a part 2. The podcast element was a good touch. The characters were all needed to tell this story. Overall, this was a great listen.

Great story. I think many women have, unfortunately, lived this without the happy ending. The book gives a little insight on why “friends with benefits” never work. I loved the story, once I got pass the male narrator. The male narrator’s voice doesn’t fit the character profile… not even a little bit.

This was a good book that highlighted some social and racial concerns. It was informative. However, I wouldn’t necessarily call it a thriller. I enjoyed the two alternating perspectives.

The book reminds me of the Netflix series, You, where the characters all seem like normal people, but could use a psych evaluation. They had too much time on their hands. It was almost seem stupid and funny, but I needed to see it through to the end. I didn’t care for the narration. The voice seem to be mocking the characters at times. I would read more of this author’s books.

This story could have be so much better if they didn’t make the main character come across so green. For a lawyer in her late thirties, she comes across like she knows nothing about relationships. I get that she only had one serious relationship that lasted a very long time, but that still doesn’t mean she should be acting like she’s in middle school.
