Good story, poor narration

The story is pretty decent, a bit more original than I expected. But the narration drove me crazy! Ok, I’m not sure why exactly, perhaps it was too sharp or maybe too much a dialect.? It just kept me on edge and I hurried through the story.

Mad love : Can wanting more excitement from love be dangerous?

The plot was incredibly twisted but very well planned. The characters
were well articulated as well as enacted by the good narrators. The book was not scarey to me the reader, which was good as I really like to sleep without bad dreams. The length was just right too. All in all it was a perfect book to read when I bedridden.

Fun and Magical

Another fun book with a powerful woman at the helm. I love the literary change towards strong women heroes. Yes, it is a book that has been around a few years, just 13 really, and in the overall scope of things, a short time. It is a happy, light weight book that I much enjoyed, and perhaps that is where the magic comes in, through very real possibilities.

Nora's Heroes

Year One feels as though Joseph Campbell was whispering over her shoulder, " Everyone wants to be a hero." That is the joy in this book, everyone can be a hero in so many ways and as our heroes develop we begin to look forward see how other characters will fit into the story as heroes. I am ready to read volume 2, I want to see the children become heroes. Within her story, Nora reminds me that we, each one, charts our own path through life and in each small struggle enables us to become heroes too.

A Man of Two Sides

The Gray Man is a character we just have to love! I doubt that he could exist in real life, but believing that he just might renews my faith in both mankind and our U.S.A. Now that he has fallen in love with the perfect woman for him, we must believe they will "hijack a plane" together. Ah, isn't romance wonderful!

Slow but with Firecrackers

The story begins a bit slowly and is even a bit hoaky but evens out with much fun and plenty of mystery. As always with Coulter, the characters personality shines through the rather fantastical storyline. I loved it and even though I had my suspicions, the ending caught me by surprise.
