Historia
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

Slow moving, but a relaxing read. Good to read if you don’t really want to have 100% mind on the book.

Historia
The American Empire is finished and will soon become another cautionary tale, tossed upon the trash heap of history, and destroyed by the very same societal issues that plagued the many former empires that share similar fates. It did not have to end this way, but when the most devious and ruthless members of a society are tasked with running the system, the outcome can hardly be in dispute.

Connecting all the dots
Revisado: 10-21-24
One of the best explanations of incidences and happenings that all of us are watching and trying to understand. After reading, there is little doubt in our mind that what they tried to tell us was conspiracy theory just can’t be. We can no longer assume everything is just a conspiracy theory/coincidence.
Scary to know what is headed our way.

Historia
Follow the Science recounts, in exacting detail, how far the pharmaceutical industry and its supporters in medicine, media, and government will go to protect their profits. Attkisson provides shocking examples that reveal the disturbing callousness our government, public health officials, and top researchers are capable of when it comes to the most vulnerable among us. And she explains, in a graphic sense, how some of the most trusted within our society are willing to commit life-threatening ethics violations.

And eye-opener on corruption in the US
Revisado: 10-12-24
The Covid years with the start of our questions of the medical industries narratives. This book explained why and how we had no choice, but to become suspicious and how arrogantly they called us idiots for questioning.
We realize how powerful the entities that set the narratives are and how widespread and encompassing their control is.

Historia
In 1995, James W. Loewen penned the classic work of criticism Lies My Teacher Told Me, a left-leaning corrective that addressed much of what was sanitized and omitted from American history books. But in the decades that followed, false leftist narratives—as wrong as those they supplanted—have come to dominate American academia and education. Now, in the same spirit but updated for 2024, Wilfred Reilly demolishes the scholastic myths propagated by the left, uncovers fresh angles on “established” events, and turns what we think we know about history upside down.

Too much information hard to listen
Revisado: 08-21-24
The ideas in this book are interesting and very important. But they go into more detail than is necessary. I think if they shorten some of these chapters, you would have a great book.

Historia
Having watched the deterioration of academia up close for the past 50 years, Ellis locates the core of the problem in a change in the composition of the faculty during this time, from mildly left-leaning to almost exclusively leftist. He explains how astonishing historical luck led to the success of a plan first devised by a small group of activists to use college campuses to promote radical politics, and why laws and regulations designed to prevent the politicizing of higher education proved insufficient.

Historia
Imagine a world in which you own nothing and rent everything. Most of the protein in your diet comes from bugs. You are not allowed to have more than one child, and your financial and medical data are instantly transferred to a centralized government database via a subdermal microchip. Controligarchs warns that this will be our existence if the supranational elites of the World Economic Forum get their way.

Eye-opening, disturbing
Revisado: 07-23-24
After hearing snippets of reports on the oligarchs, this book confirms and connects all the dots that were scattered. Small facets of our day-to-day life that left us disturbed begin to make sense.
