Haidt shows how the “play-based childhood” began to decline in the 1980s, and how it was finally wiped out by the arrival of the “phone-based childhood” in the early 2010s.

Content was good. Statistics interesting and informative. I didn’t really need to know that author is an atheist, not that I’m offended… just felt arbitrary and almost like a badge of honor. Seemed to make religion out to be a trivial supplement. And those who follow to be filling a void with something fake and silly while acknowledging some “impact”. Also, didn’t need the comment that all porn is not bad… subjective opinion and not substantiated.

I enjoyed a lot of what was written however pushing a woke agenda is not only destroying Disney and Pixar, its efforts to indoctrinate children is offensive. The inferred postulate that embracing a woke agenda will make a company better is patently false. Recent failures and missteps of Pixar and Disney and driving the company into the ground. It is sad.

As Rick said, Satan chose the wrong family. What satan meant for evil God meant for good! I am thankful that I read this book. And thankful for the Burgess’s. Praise be to God.
