Historia
Investigative journalist Laura Chambers is back in her tiny hometown of Hillsborough, North Carolina, the one place she swore never to return. Fired from The Boston Globe, her career in shambles, she reluctantly takes a job with the local paper. The work is simple, unimportant, and worst of all, boring - at least until a missing girl turns up dead, the body impeccably clean, dressed to be the picture of innocence. Years earlier, 10-year-old Patty Finch left home and never made it back. But for the people of Hillsborough, Patty was just the beginning.

Mesmerizing will keep you on the edge of your seat. Ups and downs, many characters to hate and others to root for everything I love in a book personally! Loved it!

Historia
In his authorial debut Aaron R. Tyler produced this edge of your seat crime thriller that you can't put down. There is a serial killer terrorizing the largely rural twin tiers region of Pennsylvania and upstate New York. He enjoys conversation and torture, and leaves behind a calling card. Each of his victims are marked with the letters CR. He is always one step ahead of the police as he kills those who have names from characters in Stephen King novels. When the FBI gets involved, he now has to outsmart the elite team of agents hand picked for the task force trying to track him down. The ...

Great Story!
Revisado: 06-28-24
Great Story! No HATE the killer and his arrogant, self righteous, narcissist ways but then that’s what makes a good writer and a good character when you forget they’re not real and hate or love them as though they are real. The AI narrative was the only negative thing I can say. I miss a person and the feeling, compassion and mood of their reading. The AI is just not the same, I don’t care for them at all. Keep the AI where it belongs in the computer. But the story and novel is great! A very good read/listen!!

Anger
Revisado: 03-03-24
Book started out good and for the most part was a good read. I think it was a bit ‘easy’ and maybe not realistic for the real world but then the ending ….. ruined the whole book for me. I am livid at the ending and how the author thinks this was away to wrap the whole story up …. I don’t know if she is hoping to write a sequel or what but the ending for lack of a better word sucked in my opinion. I’m almost worried and regretting the fact I downloaded another of her books halfway through this book if this is how she ends stories. I really hope I’m wrong in this respect cause I feel like I wasted my money on this book all it did was put me in a bad mood and make me angry. I just keep reminding myself it’s only a story but the sad truth remains people like Mo are out there and are literally living their lives just like this character and I guess that’s why this ending made me so upset and angry. Let the punishment fit the crime people. So disappointed!

Story Great, Narration Not So Much
Revisado: 09-22-23
Another terrific Stephen King novel; however, the narrators voice drove me insane! It was too nicey nicey and it just was hard to listen to given the story made me hate the wife for her voice and the couple maybe that was the intention but I just had trouble listening to her voice !!!!

Historia
Lewis Madigan is young, gay, out of work, and getting antsy when he’s roped into providing end-of-life care for his insufferable homophobic neighbor, Chester Wheeler. Lewis doesn’t need the aggravation, just the money. The only requirements: run errands, be on call, and put up with a miserable old churl no one else in Buffalo can bear. After exchanging barbs, bickering, baiting, and pushing buttons, Chester hits Lewis with the big ask. Lewis can’t say no to a dying wish.

Great Story, Even Better Narration

Very good book as most all of CRH novels and the narration was especially nice. Very soothing voice to listen to and most appropriate for Lewis’s character.

For awesome Stephen King stories! The great and never get tired of listening to, reading or watching the Shawshank Redemption although Red will forever be Morgan Freeman in my mind! haha
The second story ‘ An Apt Student’ is new to me and creepy and well I hated BOTH of the main characters which means SK did a fantastic job writing!!!
