Historia
Most books about the history of humanity pursue either a historical or a biological approach, but Dr. Yuval Noah Harari breaks the mold with this highly original book. From examining the role evolving humans have played in the global ecosystem to charting the rise of empires, Sapiens integrates history and science to reconsider accepted narratives, connect past developments with contemporary concerns, and examine specific events within the context of larger ideas.

Big Assumptions
Revisado: 08-07-24
The book is factually wrong a lot. The author make false assumptions to prove points the whole book. I really tried to force my way through it, but I just couldn't. I got to 3 hours left and just couldn't put up with it...

Historia
In The Song of Our Scars, physician Haider Warraich offers a bold reexamination of the nature of pain, not as a simple physical sensation, but as a cultural experience. Warraich, himself a sufferer of chronic pain, considers the ways our notions of pain have been shaped not just by science but by politics and power, by whose suffering mattered and whose didn’t.

Not good for me...
Revisado: 05-03-22
Some good information, but a lot of twisting of facts. There is a lot of just plain wrong information in this book, as well. The author gets the whole opiod epidemic wrong by leaving out the fact that they lump heroin use and over doses with doctor prescribed opiods. This is a huge issue for me, maybe isn't for you. I'm a pain patient and almost all of this authors assertions are wrong for me. That is probably why I couldn't get through this book. If you get this book just do a little digging as you listen.

Historia
Our ancestors crossed deserts, mountains, and oceans without even a whisper of what anyone today might consider modern technology. Those feats of endurance now seem impossible in an age where we take comfort for granted. But what if we could regain some of our lost evolutionary strength by simulating the environmental conditions of our forbears? Investigative journalist and anthropologist Scott Carney takes up the challenge to find out: Can we hack our bodies and use the environment to stimulate our inner biology?

Leadership
Revisado: 03-14-17
Great book. I respect you very much for writing it. the only thing I saw wrong is that Wim Hof is a good leader of men. It was his teachings and leadership that got you up that mountain. It was his drive that lead you. Without him you never would have achiveved your goals. Going up one of the toughest climbs in the world is not the time for hugs and kisses, that could get someone killed. He knew that. There is no softness in nature. I'm am a former Army Ranger and though I see where Wim Hof could improve on certain leadership skills; I think he was spot on with how he went about his additude on the mountain. The doubt you had was self doubt and you were looking for someone to blame in stead of looking at your own faults. I think you saw that in the final moments. Once again, great book and it will change my life. I am already breathing!
