Historia
Behind the tall, foreboding gates of a commune in Brazil, Daniella Mestyanek Young was raised in the religious cult The Children of God, also known as The Family, as the daughter of high-ranking members. Her great-grandmother donated land for one of The Family’s first communes in Texas. Her mother, at thirteen, was forced to marry the leader and served as his secretary for many years. Beholden to The Family’s strict rules, Daniella suffers physical, emotional, and sexual abuse—masked as godly discipline and divine love—and is forbidden from getting a traditional education.

Harrowing experience of a strong Woman living though and overcoming the evil of groups.
Revisado: 10-12-24
An incredible personal story of how the author was abused by different groups that enabled and shielded abusers while putting thousands of vulnerable people, especially children and more especially girls and women in harm's way. Shares some insights into how and why many groups do this from the author who experienced and then studied these groups. Powerfully written and read by the author. Bravely deals frankly with very difficult intense subjects that the author experienced first hand, not for the faint of heart.

Historia
Malcolm Gladwell, author of New York Times best sellers including Talking to Strangers and host of the podcast Revisionist History, uses original interviews, archival footage, and his trademark insight to weave together the stories of a Dutch genius and his homemade computer, a band of brothers in Central Alabama, a British psychopath, and pyromaniacal chemists at Harvard. As listeners hear these stories unfurl, Gladwell examines one of the greatest moral challenges in modern American history.

Super enjoyable listening!
Revisado: 12-28-22
Great history! Malcolm is always interesting and informative. This audio book is performed more like a podcast in a good way with recordings of historical interviews and ambient sounds. A lot of care was put into this work.

Historia
More than 60 percent of young people who went to church as teens drop out after high school. This is a striking and alarming statistic. Now the bestselling author of unChristian trains his researcher's eye on these young believers. Where Kinnaman's first book unChristian showed the world what outsiders aged 16–29 think of Christianity, You Lost Me shows why younger Christians, ages 16–29, are leaving the church and rethinking their faith. Kinneaman offers suggestions on how to help young people develop and maintain a vibrant faith....
