Historia
A.D. 255. The Roman imperium is stretched to the breaking point, its authority and might challenged throughout the territories and along every border. One man is sent to marshal the defenses of a lonely city and to shore up the crumbling walls of a once indomitable symbol of Roman power, a man whose very name means war: a man called Ballista. So unfolds an epic drama - a story of empire, heroes, treachery, courage, and most of all, of brutal, bloody warfare.

This narrator is bad. Can’t deal with it. Seven more words required it says. Bad narration.

Would have given five all over but the pronunciation of Ca-racta- cus as Cara-catus was maddening.

Historia
A revolution brewing for generations has begun in fire. It will end in blood. The Free Navy - a violent group of Belters in black-market military ships - has crippled the Earth and begun a campaign of piracy and violence among the outer planets. The colony ships heading for the thousand new worlds on the far side of the alien ring gates are easy prey, and no single navy remains strong enough to protect them. James Holden and his crew know the strengths and weaknesses of this new force better than anyone.

Where has that dude been?
Revisado: 11-10-20
Just want to say this one is as good as the rest.
I read a review prior to buying this where it was stated that this installment has too much of the inner workings of minds of various characters and is sub par to what has come before.
Dude is full of it. It’s world building, character development, backstory and all the rest of the things that make up an epic story.
He complained about the politics without which there is no story. Ignore that review and enjoy this is an excellent listen and better read.
If you can’t wrap your brain around anymore than Holden’s little crew then stop now and go back to your comic books. The story gets bigger and bigger it is the Expanse after all.

Why can’t I find more of this series on Audible?
For that matter why are there gaps in A. Riches series?
Good stuff.
