Unlovable MMC

I love a “bad boy” MMC but this one was really pushing it for me. He was so unloveable to me and treated her so terribly most of the time. I just couldn’t see the appeal in this one. It’s too bad, I love the narrators but just couldn’t get into it.

Great Book! Gross Narration!

Loved this story! It has fantasy, a spicy slow burn romance, action betrayal.. all of the things I thoroughly enjoy with an epic romantic fantasy. The female narrator on the other hand… yuck, she was clearly sick! I was able to get past it and finished the book, but I agree with the other reviewers, this really deserves a re-recording.

Poor Female Narration

I loved this story, but the female narrator was so whiny with her inflections. The main character who was supposed to be mid twenties always sounded like a teenager. It unfortunate because this would have been good otherwise.

Great Story! Speed up Narration

I loved this book! Once I got into the story I was hooked. Lots of mystery, twists, turns, betrayal and a slow burn romance. I do agree with the other reviews, speeding up the narration to 1.15x changed the whole thing for me and made it much more enjoyable!

Great story, fun romance!

I really enjoyed this story and the spice level was perfect. It had believable build up with a strong and powerful female lead with depth/ an interesting back story. My only complaint would be the narrator sometimes sounded a bit disjointed from the story. I listened at speed 1.10 and it helped a lot!

I had a really hard time getting into this one. I normally really enjoy C.N. Crawford but the main characters just lacked depth for me. There wasn’t enough in common between them for the romance to feel even remotely realistic. Nothing wrong with superficial attraction, I just wanted more.

Steamy Adventure

Can’t wait for book 2! I wish audible would release more at once. The narration was great and the story was well paced with just the right combination of steaminess/adventure. Highly recommend if you enjoy a fae romance.

Unlovable Main Characters

It’s very rare that I truly dislike the protagonist, but I could not get on board with this. At first I loved where the story was going and the plot twists, but as I continued on the main characters just grated more and more. The disjointed romance and tapering off of action ultimately led me to not finish.

Needs a warning

for me unfortunately this book needed a trigger warning. It was going so well and I was very absorbed into the story up until that point. Sadly I couldn’t finish.
