Historia
Raised in a household so filthy it was stomach-spilling, Vera involuntarily evolved into a neat freak. Upon discovering she and her disabled husband, Daniel, are expecting, she needs fast cash. Her obsession with cleanliness sprouts the concept that her skills can be put to use in a unique way. She takes a stab at the booming door-to-door vacuum sales business of 1988. All is going well until she arrives at the steps of a house that will change her forever. The steps of an evil that resurrects the ghastly memories she so desperately tried to wash away.

just ok
Revisado: 09-04-24
The good: the narrator saved to the story. There is plenty of descriptive gore, Aron is good at gross-outs.
The bad: The rest of the story was slow and kind of boring. Some parts listened like filler to fluff an already short story. There are a couple chapters toward the end that are standalone & have nothing to do with the rest of the book. No new title, epilogue announcement; just new characters and a scene change. Then it jumps back to the story for a rushed ending. Between the editors, author and proofreader, somebody needs to do a better job.
Conclusion: I've read better short stories. Gore-wise, there isn't much to complain about. Story-wise, just ok. The author should stick to short stories and anthologies. The Slob probably would've stood out in a horror anthology, but it's lackluster on it's own.

Historia
These people will give anything for the idols they worship, be they rock stars, actors or authors. Or even serial killers. Lori is just such a fanatic. Her obsession is with Edmund Cox, a man of sadistic cruelty who butchered more than 20 women. She’s gone so far as to forge a relationship with him, visiting him in prison and sending him letters on a regular basis. She will do anything to get close to him, so when he gives her a task, she eagerly accepts it. She has no idea of the horror that awaits her.

Overhyped
Revisado: 07-23-24
This story was kind of boring, to be honest. The "horror" was creepy for maybe 2 minutes but the rest is just socially shocking. There was too much scene setting, not enough scene action. it's pretty much 5 hours of "this river feels eerie. I hate my sister. Who's the RiverMan?"

Historia
Sexual obsessions running amok, a stagnant lake full of abominable horrors, and a secluded clinic with a secret wing that no one’s ever entered. These are just a few of the goings-on in this macabre tech-horror story in which veteran novelist Edward Lee takes the mad-scientist theme into shocking new territory. Security manager Clare Prentiss swears she’s being watched during her nightly rounds on a remote federal nature preserve.

Lacking something
Revisado: 05-31-24
The story sounds like an episode of an OK scifi TV show. It has a good plot and setting but the execution is flat. There is more dialog than action, and the narrator is just reading, not bringing the story to life.

It also includes the bonus Hell for the Holidays, a 24/7 Demon Mart Christmas special. Lloyd Wallace is the most clueless crossing guard the intersection of hell and earth has ever seen. So clueless, that he doesn't even realize the beer cave in the corner store where he works is the gateway to hell.

Needs a less whiny main character
Revisado: 08-09-23
The story was a fun ride, but the main character kind of ruined the story for me. I get the shock of the job but there was no character development or growth, dude just whined the whole time, then whined about how much he whined. The side characters really saved the story. The narrator kept the energy lively but the MC got annoying to listen to about halfway through.

Complete waste of time and money
Revisado: 04-14-23
Do not waste your time with this anthology reject. Boring, not scary at all. The plot is an email exchange. It's hard to truly rate the performance for a story so dull.

Historia
This is book three in the A Glimpse into Hell series and was written for the extreme gore lovers. The story is pure gore for the sake of gore. The main character, Seth Coker, and his sidekick, Barry Muller, hold nothing back as they inflict the most gruesome and sadistic acts of torture on the criminals and lowlifes of our society. This audiobook is extremely graphic, but it's also filled with dark humor. Splatterpunk gets straight to the gore and has very little storyline compared to the first two books in this series.

The most terrifying thing that you can possibly imagine is your own body in the hands of a monster. Or worse, in the hands of another human being. In this definitive anthology of body horror selected by a World Horror Grandmaster, you'll find the unthinkable and the shocking: a couture designer preparing for an exquisitely grotesque runway show; a vengeful son seeking the parent who bred him as plasma donor; a celebrity-kink brothel that inflicts plastic surgery on sex workers; and organ-harvesting doctors who dissect a living man without anesthetic.

Boring
Revisado: 10-21-22
The stories were alright at best, more stylistically horror than actually scary. Maybe 3 stories were actually creepy, the rest were wasted potential. A model with someone else's arms walks naked into the woods, the end. One spent 40 minutes describing a diner, the only "horror" ended up being the narrator leaving her kid at a rest stop. Boring.

The narration was powerful, brought the characters to life and was simply spectacular. The story was deep and moving, a series you HAVE to finish once you start. I cannot wait for the TV series.
