Historia
In this 24-lesson course aimed at non-scientists, noted particle physicist Dr. Don Lincoln of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory covers more than a century of progress in physics, describing exactly how scientists reach the conclusions they do. He starts with the atom, which was long hypothesized but wasn’t definitively proven until a paper by Albert Einstein in 1905. That was just the beginning, as researchers probed ever deeper into the atom’s complex structure, leading to the weird findings of quantum mechanics.

Historia
Here's a fact, arguments will always happen. We have all had arguments at some point or another. Some you win and some you lose, and often sometimes you lose arguments not because your point was wrong or ill-considered but because you have not effectively made your point clear enough. Have you ever been in an argument or heated debate and found yourself becoming flustered and unable to think straight? You may have even had all the facts stacked in your favor but just have not been able to communicate them!

This book is about debate, logical fallacies, EQ and presence, all compacted into a few hours. Dense but very good!

I have read many leadership books. Yet, none does it through telling of a moving story. This makes the listening so much more enjoyable and riveting. The narration was excellent. Highly recommend it!

Racism. Immigration. Gun violence. Sexuality. Health care. The number of ethical issues that demand a response from Christians today is almost dizzying. How can Christians navigate such matters? What are faithful responses to these questions? Edited by two theologians with pastoral experience, this volume invites engagement with these issues and more by drawing on real-life experiences and offering a range of responses to some of the most challenging moral questions confronting the church today.

Revisado: 06-13-21
I had such high hopes when I bought this audiobook and was hoping to get biblically based responses to difficult ethical questions. Instead, the contributors seem to mix biblical theology with psychology and pneumatology in their analysis of topics. The emphasis is very clearly anti-Evangelical and pro-liberal in orientation. Each contributor is supposed to present three views and then give his/her opinion on the matter. More often than not, the first view presented is Evangelical and some biblical passages were quoted, the next two views then attack the evangelical position as not in line with social/psychological reality or as not in line with the "spirit of love" without firm Scriptural support. The contributor would then give his/her opinion affirming and thanking the latter positions.
I had hoped for the book to address difficult ethical questions and provide guidance based on solid biblical exegesis. As a follower of Christ, I do not want to base my ethics on ephemeral world views, psychological trends and pneumatology. The Spirit of Truth testifies to Christ and his Word, and those alone should be our bedrock of assurance as we navigate through ethical dilemmas.

Historia
Harry Blamires, a noted British Christian thinker who started writing through the encouragement of C. S. Lewis, his tutor at Oxford, makes a perceptive diagnosis of some of the weaknesses besetting the church today. He argues that the distinctively Christian intellect is being swept away by secular modes of thought and secular assumptions about reality. Blamires calls for the recovery of the Christian mind and challenges “not only secularism’s assault upon personal morality and the life of the soul, but also secularism’s truncated and perverted view of the meaning of life...."

Great narration!
Revisado: 12-24-20
Unlike the many usual monotonous narrations, the narrator is wonderfully lively, with the right pauses and emphases/accentuations. This is what proper professional narration should be!
And the book, it is a clear indictment of the secularization of the Christian mind. True in the day of writing and even truer today.

Historia
Every one of us will experience suffering. Many of us are experiencing it now. As we have seen in recent years, evil is real in our world, present and close to each one of us. In such difficult times, suffering and evil beg questions about God--Why would an all-good and all-powerful God create a world full of evil and suffering? And then, how can there be a God if suffering and evil exist?

Solid Christian response to pain and suffering
Revisado: 09-10-20
This is a wonderful response to atheists who either do not see any meaning in pain and suffering or who use that to refute the existence of God. It also discredits the misleading teachings of many wealth and health preachers. Solid exposition of this difficult subject through study of the scriptures. It is a book that brings the only possible hope and purpose to anyone in pain through Christ alone. Great read!

Historia
Walking with God through Pain and Suffering is the definitive Christian book on why bad things happen and how we should respond to them. The question of why there is pain and suffering in the world has confounded every generation; yet there has not been a major book from a Christian perspective exploring why they exist for many years.

A great book on Christian hope in suffering without offering all the usual pat and trite answers. Love all the scripture passages and real life examples. Also, often good books are marred by bad narration. Not so in this case!

Historia
Pilgrim Theology is a map for Christians seeking to better understand the core beliefs of their faith. Even though it's the study of God, theology has a reputation for being dry, abstract, and irrelevant for daily living. But theology is a matter of life and death. It affects the way you think, the decisions you make, the way you relate to God and the world. Reformed theologian and professor Michael Horton wrote Pilgrim Theology as a more accessible companion to his award-winning systematic theology The Christian Faith.

How does science work? Does it tell us what the world is "really" like? What makes it different from other ways of understanding the universe? In Theory and Reality, Peter Godfrey-Smith addresses these questions by taking the listener on a grand tour of 100 years of debate about science. The result is a completely accessible introduction to the main themes of the philosophy of science.
