Historia
The Indignities of Being a Woman candidly traces the history of womanhood and investigates how much things have really changed for womankind. By carefully x-raying areas such as body image, marriage, mental illness, fashion, and politics, this audiobook examines what it was like to be a woman in the past versus what it’s like now, when women are constantly told equality between the sexes exists but reality proves otherwise.

Timely
Revisado: 07-01-22
This book provides a timely examination of the expectations & injustices suffered by women in a variety of areas of life. The authors provide information & then discuss the issues together as if over coffee. It was very informative & easy to follow. I have already recommended this title to friends, family, and colleagues.

Suspense!
Revisado: 09-11-19
Sandra Brown proves once again why she is my favorite author! This book was filled with intrigue and mystery from start to finish. I typically listen at bedtime and have to rewind a bit due to dosing off. That was not the case with this one. I couldn’t stop listening. I had to find out what would become of Berry and her mother, but most of all I became very fond of Dodge. This is in my top 10 great listens!

Shallow storytelling at best
Revisado: 05-15-19
This tale had the makings of so much more if it had only been fleshed our further. Instead only the surfaces of infidelity, women’s empowerment, motherhood, grief, conspiracy, and the shabby side of the political realm were presented. This disappointing.

Eccentricity Celebrated!
Revisado: 01-19-19
I found this tale humorous and enchanting. Navigating the romantic playing field is difficult enough. Throw in a cast of eccentric family members and I found myself examining just what makes up a true support system. The mishaps along the way only humanized the heroine. The magical elements made me question what really controls our lives. Delightful tale!

Best listen yet!
Revisado: 07-18-18
With careers in mental health and the literary world, it is hard for a novel to keep me on the edge of my seat. Newell’s characterization, authenticity and well developed storyline with both breadth and depth did just that and more. Her female protagonist could easily be a friend I met for brunch. I found myself invested in her finding a happy ending. I went back and forth trying to determine exactly who the man on the beach was. Her protagonist was an exceptionally well developed psychopath as compared with others I have encountered both on the page and face to face. I can’t say enough about this work! Jewell has certainly earned her place among my favorite authors!

I have been a fan of this series in print for years, but Erickson creates the necessary depth that brings the characters to life. I especially like her portrayal of Rourke’s brogue.
This is a great series for anyone needing a futuristic, but not too far off, escape.
