Fantastic technical magic system, excellent arc.. annoying gay innuendo

I Thoroughly enjoyed the magic system the story arcs and the world building.. I will buy the next book despite the unnecessary gay moments that feel like they are inserted into the story as a nod to the diversity BS. Aside from that it was a good book. Nick Podehl does a stellar job of preforming.

The idea that only white people and white men in particular should shoulder the responsibility for sins of the past as all other demographics are to one degree or another victims is abhorrent. To make this claim is to adopt a position of white supremacy. It steals the agency from minorities and implies that they are somehow incapable of bearing any responsibility. If you remove their responsibility you rob them of power in their own lives..
This entire deluded diatribe alternates between wallowing in collective guilt and decrying virtue in self flagellation..
