Steve Pressfield has a knack for brilliance, ever since he wrote War of Art. He is able to distill in a few short hours what the geniuses of old have been trying to say forever. Pressfield has a down-to-earth and commanding presence. As the former president of Paramount Pictures, and the former president of production of Disney Studios, I can not think of a better two hours spent by any creative than getting their ears around this audio book!

A great eye witness primer of the world of fairy!

This collection of eye-witness account of fairy was written by a friend of W. B. Yeats, W.Y. Evans-Wentz. Rather than pull his material from books, Evans-Wenz toured England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland and discovered rich and charming first hand accounts of humans finding Fae in their ordinary worlds. Terrific narration by Jack Chekijian who also is the narrator of the W B. Yeats collection, The Celtic Twilight, also available through this platform.

Perfect Narrator with a great Collection of Tales!

This is a wonderful collection of folk tales matched by the perfect narrator for this, Jack Chekijian. I have listened to this charming combination many times and no doubt, many more.

Magic Time IS PURE MAGIC!

I absolutely loved the audio book, Magic Time: My Life in Hollywood, discovering both insight and humor in its pages. Its approximately 8 hours in listening length. I have to admit, I binge-listened to the audio book in less than 2 days. It was so damn entertaining!

Director Mike Nichols told me that “storytelling is all about putting the emphasis on the story in the right place.” In the audio book, Hawk knows exactly where he’s taking the listener and proves to be a natural storyteller. With his timbered yet vulnerable voice, Hawk weaves a helluva tale that sparkles with his impersonations of such luminaries as Roman Polanski, Jack Nicholson, Robert Evans, and Robert DeNiro. It’s a hoot but it’s also poignant.

A legend in the entertainment business, Hawk Koch has worked on some of the most popular and influential movies of our time: Rosemary’s Baby, Chinatown, The Way We Were, Heaven Can Wait, Wayne’s World, Keeping the Faith, and Primal Fear.

Hawk Koch was under 25 and working for B-movie Producer, William Castle, when he came upon the manuscript for Rosemary’s Baby. Hawk was such a champion for the material that he convinced his boss to get on a plane that very afternoon to fly to New York City. Within 24 hours, the production company had acquired the rights to what would become a classic, elegant horror movie directed by Roman Polanski.

I am recommending this audio book to everyone! It's just that GOOD!

I could not stop listening!

I saw this particular audio book on Facebook. Curious about the Richard Martini oeuvre, I decided to dive in to his latest book. I was surprised that I did not need to listen to the hundreds of hours of other exploratory Martini material, to "get" this most recent book. What I found is a breathtaking new look at reality. The content is presented with such style, wit, and profundity that you can not help but be swept up by its unique and probable vision. Richard Martini narrates with such aplomb,and personality, that listening became a real treat. "Everyone who has ever lived continues to exist on the Flipside and if possible, can be asked direct questions." That is the book's unique premise. And the casual, interview-style format includes everyone from Robin Williams, Prince, and John Lennon. It also includes interviews from the "flipside" of Katie Spade and Anthony Bourdain. I would recommend this to anyone who is curious about the world beyond this world. It is intelligent, loving, and filled with laughter.
