I loved this book. I loved the unique characters and storyline. I loved that it was more about the people and their growth and emotions (and not about some over-the-top villain).
There was just the right amount of steam... not too much and not too little. I obviously loved the narration because who doesn't love Tim Campbell?
I can't wait to listen to the next book... although I'm also a little worried because this book set my expectations so high! Well done to the author for writing such an enjoyable book.

Unexpected gem

This is not a normal frivolous historical romance. It had a lot more depth and some more serious subject matter while still being really enjoyable to listen to. Such a nice surprise. Definitely recommend this book.

Finished it in one day

After struggling for a while to find a good that holds my attention, I finally found one! I loved the story and can't wait to read the next one. I do particularly love books about old houses and restorations. It's more of a family drama/mystery rather than a romance. The ending of the book leaves some things unresolved so reading the next book is a must. I'll definitely try other books by this author as well. Narration was good.

I'm so glad I decided to give this series a try. I'm so tired of the badly written historical romance and this series is a breath of fresh air.

The second book in the series was even better than the first. The characters are so unique and the character development is so great to listen to. I can't wait to listen to the next one.

An enjoyable book

I loved this book more than I thought I would. I was interested in another book by this author (because it was recommended to me) but decided to give this one a try because it was in Audible Escape and I'm so glad I did! The story sucked me right in and I enjoyed this book so much. I'll definitely be reading the other books by the author.

A Short and Sweet de Wolfe book

Good ending to a good series

I enjoyed all the books in this series and this book was a nice ending to the series. It felt a little serious at times but I think it needed to be because of who the characters were. Definitely read the other books before this one otherwise you'll be missing out.

Mimi Matthews is a must read and Alex Wyndham is always great to listen to.

Mimi Matthews writes amazing Regency romance books with interesting characters that develop as the book progresses. There are so many badly written Regency romance books available that focus on sex and misunderstandings... this is not one of those. And of course, Alex Wyndham's narration is perfect.
