Great story, terrible narration

Loved the continuation of the series and look forward to the next installment. Suffered through the narration, poor choice of tone in characters and presenting the action, also noticed a character switch from being a quiet stoic brit to someone with a texas drawl... Please find someone else.

New narrator needed, badly.

I'm a big fan of the odyssey one series and have listened to it several times in full, I was excited for this new series but the new narrator presents everything like a timid whisper. It's really off putting and doesn't suit the story or characters at all. I was bummed to see that the next book was done by the same guy, maybe they'll replace him on number 3? Hopefully, it was bad enough to make me consider skipping it even with as much time as I've invested in all the other books.

Love the storyline but physically cringe at the narration. Kafir should consider starting an emo folk band or narrating Edgar Alan Poe books.

Great story, cringey narration.

I've enjoyed the series thus far but the change in narrator was unwelcome. Every other sentence is delivered like a marine is looking out to sea after the Normandy landing in ww2, dramatic and full of angst.

Long winded noble sacrifice porn

Good. Freaking. Lord. Can the next book buck the trend of waxing romantic about self sacrifice every third paragraph? Seriously, a single character decides that their honorable sacrifice is for the better good, spelled out in eye rolling amounts of prose, 4 times in the same story and probably 12+ times in the series... There was more angst in here than exists in all of the middle schools in California, basically the first 2/3 of the book, imagine Twilight for politics in space with battleships. The last third was more in line with the first books, decent technical military scifi, tho it too had plenty of hand-wringing.

Great story except for the waifu

All the elements of a typical future military fiction with an unexpected assembly. My only real gripe was the cringey neckbeard tendencies of the main character, especially the brony bits. If young adult men are still engaging My Little Pony 2000 years from now then we have failed as a cultured society. Otherwise it was great

A satisfying conclusion, a rare experience.

A solid end to a great series that didn't leave me wanting or waiting to see what happens next. Proof positive that it's ok to end a series, they don't need to live forever at the expense of the story.
