Historia
Jack London was one of the most prolific and imaginative writers America has ever produced. This collection includes eight masterpieces that showcase London's literary versatility and his genius at creating memorable, one-of-a-kind characters: "Moon-Face" - a study of extreme motiveless antipathy; "The Leopard-Man's Story" - passion and mayhem under the big top; "Local Color" - a wandering polymath might be too smart for his own good; "The Minions of Midas" - a tale of terrorism perhaps more disturbing today than it was 100 years ago; and much more.

Did not like it at all
Revisado: 03-14-22
Being Jack London on of my favorite writers (if not my favorite) I started this audio book with the normal (great) enthusiasm I always start Jack London books ! But somehow it did not worked .... I really struggle to finish this book (almost quit for 2 or 3 times).
I'll consider this book the 'exception that proves the rule' for all my Jack London great books

Historia
Ken Follett follows up his number one New York Times best seller Fall of Giants with a brilliant, pause-resisting epic about the heroism and honor of World War II, and the dawn of the atomic age. Winter of the World picks up right where the first book left off, as its five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, Welsh - enter a time of enormous social, political, and economic turmoil, beginning with the rise of the Third Reich, through the Spanish Civil War and World War II.

Historia
In 1307, as they struggled to secure their last strongholds in the Kingdom of Jerusalem, the Templars fell afoul of the vindictive and impulsive king of France. On Friday, October 13, hundreds of brothers were arrested en masse, imprisoned, tortured, and disbanded amid accusations of lurid sexual misconduct and heresy. They were tried by the Vatican in secret proceedings. But were they heretics or victims of a ruthlessly repressive state?

Congrats.
... very very interesting book with a passionate performance !
I wish the author also included the huge historical weight of the TEMPLARS influence on the PORTUGUESE crown on the following 'discovery ages' - the fight continued, but now mainly by the control of the sea - The Indian Ocean, the African Coast & the Red Sea seen the biggest sea battles between Francs & the Muslim world; never like then the descendants of the Templars were so close to reach Mecca & Medina and the thought of getting back to the holly land was ever present in those ages as it was before ... maybe in a next book ?
Thanks for all the fun ! really enjoyed listen to it !

Historia
Most readers are familiar with Jack London's stories of the frozen northland, such as White Fang and To Light a Fire, but many critics feel he should be equally acknowledged for his fascinating stories of the South Pacific. Here is another remote corner of the world, a background for his magnificently colorful and entertaining Tales of the South Pacific.

Historia
"Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" So goes the signature introduction of New York Herald star journalist Henry Morton Stanley to renowned explorer Dr. David Livingstone, who had been missing for six years in the wilds of Africa. Into Africa ushers us into the meeting of these remarkable men. In 1866, when Livingstone journeyed into the heart of the African continent in search of the Nile's source, the land was rough, unknown to Europeans, and inhabited by man-eating tribes.

Could be even better
Revisado: 04-02-20
Was hopping the African experience would be more detailed (the hunting / the tribes / cultural clash) also the historical part is totally loyal to Livingstone and the British ‘epopeia’ ! The author pass aside the relevance of the Portuguese influence both on East and West African territories were almost all action takes place; nice book though, enjoyed listening !
