male narrator and MMC ...yummy

The male narrator is new to me, but good holy Miss Molly I am searching out other books he is associated with. MMC was all alpha with a quiet intelligence and layers of hidden depth.

FMC...meh, much to many moments where I'm rolling my eyes and just awaiting the moment to be over. Too many times is she petulant and acts like he treats her like a groupie, although he's truly never given her reason to believe that. That and the way the female narrator delivers those lines just amplifies it, not in a good way.

All in all, I enjoy the author and will also seek out more of her work. Smolder and sexy times are too good.

Best parts are the author's great storytelling and all the sizzling scenes. Narrators perform well, but the male's version of a female voice is strange. Definitely enjoyed Books 1-3 with book 3 being my fave. This will be a series I will listen to again.

DESTROYED ME -❤️ vjay and all

I have to say...I nearly couldn't finish this one. I had a feeling how it would end and I didn't think I could take it. Sure enough, 0430 in the morning I'm blowing through a box of Kleenex with my Bose on whilst my husband is trying to sleep (the Bose keeps me lost in my own world. Hubs tells me I am definitely NOT as quiet as I think I am).

Oh but the love, angst, heat and heartache is so worth it. I wanted to burn through it all over again as soon as it ended, but my heart and puffy tear ducts just couldn't handle it! Thank God I can still hear Jacob Morgan's sexy timber echoing in my head bumping and having sexy times with my imagination.

Oh Moto ... Dr. Dynamite... High capsaicin in this one. ❤️‍🔥💋❤️‍🔥

M Never is a new author for me as of a whopping 2 days now and I've gone through 3 of her books. Easy to listen to, fun, definitely sexy and noting one of my fave male narrators (swooning @ you, JM) on many of her books is a huge plus. I will without a don't listen to all of her books and be on the lookout for new ones. I can't believe it's taken me this long to stumble across her.

Hot and giggles galore

Narration: flawless. Couldn't have been executed any better individually and together make an unstoppable duo.

Storyline/Author: loved the storyline. Entertaining from start to finish. There aren't any annoying unnecessary "ugh," "c'mon," or "ffs" moments in the plot just to drag out the storyline. The magnetism and developing relationship of the FMC and MMC just gave me all the giggles, smiles, laughs, and feels between the writing and perfect narration. Definitely has Butcher and Blackbird vibes due to added dual narration and comedic delivery of you're looking for comparison. I will absolutely keep a lookout for future releases from this author.

🔥: Not raw dirty explicit, but hot and steamy nonetheless. MMC is one sexy beast and the male narrator's VOICE! (*swoon* Yes, please. I want more) Plenty of steam. Grab some towels.

This is my second review due to an overlook and blunder on my part. So here is my quicker and dirtier.

Likes: the brotherhood and story of healing, how they in aid in FMC's healing; the olfactory twist into the storyline and how it plays into the title of the book. My pleasure in discovering this author. FMC's clear strength of character without the dragging feminist bandwagon that can sour reverse harem dark romance books. Hello.....strong male narrators. As in MULTIPLE. Thank you, sweet baby Jesus, Easter Bunny, Allah, Buddha, Dalai Lama.


Dislikes: no time for dislikes. gotta bookmark a smut scene and who has time for rewind. Live Life in the moment and all that shite.

Evolving love and loyalty

Narration: 4/5 Fell flat in some chapters, particularly with the male narrator when he kept a predictable pace and sharp intake of breath when reading. Together the narrators were very compatible. Lark also had some of her singing woven into the performance which was a nice break from the typical narration.

Spice: 3/5 Not a lot of scenes, not long when it did pop up near the very end, not even a lot of angst. Not graphic compared to many other smut-containing dark romance books.

Story: 5/5 Butcher and Blackbird was much more entertaining -narrative and banter was punchy, witty; storyline drew the reader/listener in; performance couldn't have been more perfect; steam, angst and smut was more present. That being said, this was still a great book and one I wouldn't pass over. I do still enjoy this author and look forward to the third installment.

So I took a ride on a lot of smut trains before I finally got the bullet on this suggested a-book. Duel narration, humor, hook and entertainment was present from five minutes in. Halfway through the book all those things were still there, but I was pretty impatient for the steam to kick in rather than the tease of the romance between Rowan and Sloane. When the steam does come on, it isn't hardcore smut, but 3.5/5 🌶️. Smolder.

Bottom line for me: new fan of this author and I would be interested in any dual narration by these two talents.

Needed more oomph

Myles' love, devotion and willingness to protect Willow is solid. Willow's character weakness was disappointing, especially since she is Violet's best friend and established as such a reliable, intelligent, stable minded individual in book one.

I agree with other reviews that female narrator reads like her mouth is full of cotton balls. Definitely some *great* HOT sex scenes, some early cringe moments, but the storyline overall needed more steam, spice and interest.

Male narrator makes every story worth it.

My gripe with book 1 and 2 of this story so far is Raine's painstakingly slow, often backwards growth in communication. It's so, so painful -even more so considering the tremendous patience and guidance she receives from Liam -and predictable. The girl hears 15% and processes 5% of that, then tries to flee the scene. The series would probably be done in 1 book if she wasn't running or they weren't trying to talk her out of running so much.

FMC annoying

I got too annoyed with the FMC -too many rules, restrictions, too rigid. Holy f#ck just have sex like the Animal Kingdom is meant to. Kiss, be spontaneous, get dirty, sweaty, kinky, sexy with this hunk who is putting 500% effort into you. I stopped listening to the book 3 times/different days before I could finish it because I found it so annoying.
