Implausible "Pretty girl" as Femme Fatale

A too long lacklustre story of a long term "outstanding" CIA assassin with teen emotional frailties being told how pretty she is.

A "supposed" killer with this amount of uncertainty, insecurities and immaturity isn't even pure fiction.

Ugh... I can't stand Jade... so annoying!

But I guess that's the point... but totally distracting and sucks all enjoyment out of the story.

I did find listening at 0.90x speed, made it tolerable, somewhat.

Anime works well with the series, but this performance makes this book very cringy at times... I pushed through, though, and finally finished the book...

Can't say enough about this series. Yes, there are ups and downs, but overall, I can only say, I keep coming back for more. I listen to these books every 6 months or so... for years now... and "Yes", I have a few pet hates, for example:
... "something felt/feels off"... is used far too often in the earlier books... and,... " I don't wanna be "that" guy"... starts down the same path... but, if that's all I have to complain about... well, I'm a "total noob"... and that's totally okay!

If you love LitRPG, or are just exploring the genre, then seriously, please consider this series... there are so few that are worth investing in... this is totally worth a few credits!!!

I agree with many other reviewers, this is very cringy. But I think that better narration would have made this audiobook more enjoyable.

I enjoyed this novel more than recent ones, but..

... why so short. more of a Novella. Not much value for listeners. Very disappointing

Less rambling, repeating of MC's thoughts and story concepts explaining the same stuff time snd time again.

Same issues with the narration though. Sigh!

I prefer the lesser novel length to the repetitive "filler" dialog... I guess that's a positive.

Independent Publishing = more $$$ for a lot less. I can't fault that, but disappointing for us listeners.

Maybe if you like Noir or 50's-70's narration... I couldn't push past it... just sounds really wrong... Sorry!

A good book for school aged children & Tweens

I'm very happy with this book.

It's a nice introduction to Fantasy LitRPG. Not any stats or complicated content.

I tried to start this one, 2nd in the series...

But, I really dislike the MC. I think the author was trying for a deep reflective, astute and intelligent character. However, I find her self-centred and superficial.

It was frustrating to get through the first novel... I couldn't do the rest of the series... maybe it get better.
