Historia
When Tea accidentally resurrects her brother from the dead, she learns she is different from the other witches in her family. Her gift for necromancy means that she's a bone witch, a title that makes her feared and ostracized by her community. But Tea finds solace and guidance with an older, wiser bone witch, who takes Tea and her brother to another land for training.

Great story, inconsistent volume for some characters (ND reviewer)
Revisado: 06-28-24
Loved the story and the voices given the main characters by the narrators, but several of the voices given to side characters had a way of grating, or causing me to need to lower the volume. I am neurodiverse, so it’s possible this is sensory issue rather than a problem with the narrators or the audio mixing, but I wanted to mention it for other brains to be aware.

Historia
The eighth book in the bestselling Chronicles of St Mary's series which follows a group of tea-soaked disaster magnets as they hurtle their way around History. If you love Jasper Fforde or Ben Aaronovitch, you won't be able to resist Jodi Taylor.

Holy 💩 What a Rollercoaster
Revisado: 09-07-23
I’m tempted to accuse this book of being bipolar (but I’m not a doctor). Many of the St. Mary’s books are a wild ride, but this one had higher highs and lower lows than I can remember. 😵💫

Good story despite a few minor inconsistencies
Revisado: 01-12-23
I didn’t notice it much my first time through this series, but there are a few inconsistencies in the lore laid out in previous books. Fortunately, they are relatively minor and do not affect the plot in a meaningful way. This was definitely a good (by which I mean well written, #NoSpoilers) resolution to the story begun in Changeling.

Historia
It's 2017, and a raging virus has drastically reduced the world's population of men, transforming all but a fraction into a race of putrid, brain-dead zombies. So what's single, ambitious 23-year-old Hattie Cross to do for fun, not to mention romance? In this hilarious marriage of post-apocalyptic fiction and super smart chick-lit with a wry twist, novelist Lynn Messina spoofs dating manuals, monsters, and the superficial media world, all the while creating a feisty, funny heroine with heart.

Dour subject matter, witty positive execution
Revisado: 09-12-22
Despite the dark subject matter, the author manages a witty story with a positive outlook. This reminds me of Fleming’s “So Long Lollipops”, and is what I’d hoped for from “Until the End of the World”.

Quirk breathes life to Carriger's world
Revisado: 04-16-16
An engaging story, relatable main character, and fantastic world created by Carriger is brought to life by the voice talent of Moira Quirk. Top notch combination of story and story teller. I like how Carriger even pokes gentle and good natured fun at a group who sews gears with no purpose to their clothing, and commits a faux pas wearing evening dress before high tea.
