Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Fantastic!

Loved the characters, the heartbreaking realism with moments of laugh out loud humor, the dialect. Excellent narration. Highly recommend.

Excellent
Revisado: 05-04-23
I first remember reading about SL over a decade ago and it was immediately clear to me that he got away with what he did/continued to do for so long precisely because of who his victims were. This podcast did an excellent job of humanizing his victims- something they have always deserved, and which we would all be better for if we did so ourselves.

Historia
The biggest lie in history is about to be shattered. UFOs are real. In late June of 1947, three extraterrestrial craft were downed outside Roswell Air Force Base. Many more followed, revealing dozens of ET species and a Rosetta Stone to a new physics, an energy generation and propulsion system responsible for interstellar space travel. This new system could have easily replaced oil, gas, coal, and nuclear plants - and with them, the entire geopolitical and economic order on our planet. But a cabal of bankers, the military-industrial complex, and Big Oil stopped it.

Drones on and on
Revisado: 10-12-20
I couldn’t stay focused on this book. It could have been really interesting but I felt like it was very repetitive. It’s one of very few books I almost stopped playing midway through.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

Love the narrators voice
Revisado: 10-12-20
The language in this book will surely be a turnoff for the “buttoned up” type, but I felt that the unvarnished style was like sitting around a campfire sharing legends with your friends.

Historia
Set in present-day Los Angeles, Junk explores an epic conspiracy, one at work for thousands of years that involves total takeover of the planet Earth by aliens. In the wild, souped-up vision of Les Bohem - the acclaimed, Emmy-winning writer of the Steven Spielberg miniseries, Taken - the world is at the end stage of long-range plot that involves a gigantic genetic-engineering project. The aliens who have invaded us have no planet. No spaceship is coming. Instead, a small advance force comes, breeds, and dies - thus becoming an anomaly in our DNA that can’t be explained.

Can John Waters narrate EVERYTHING?!
Revisado: 06-24-19
I really liked the book and the story- It very much appealed to what my friends kindly referred to as my dark and twisty side. It was made that much better by the narration of John Waters.
