Good story but one of the main characters has an Australian accent and the heroine goes on and on about how sexy it is but the way she does it sounds like a Boston accent and the male narrator doesn’t exactly sound Australian. Just wish they got that part right.

Loved the story, loved the series, loved the voice actors. But this audio had a lot of edits because the voice inflection and volume changed quite a bit throughout where you could tell they had to go back and edit something. Still enjoyed the audio but it was very noticeable.

This is an easy light read. There’s a mystery involved but it felt pretty obvious who was behind everything. The steamy scenes are pretty hot!

As far as the audiobook goes, this book is dual POV. Some chapters are from the male POV and some from the female POV. But there’s only a single male narrator. The male narrator reading the female POV chapters really threw my vibe off. The narrator did a good job narrating but I personally prefer a woman to do a female POV instead of a deep husky male’s voice.

In the beginning I had some mixed feelings about the heroine, Mack. Sneaking into the Irish mob for evidence to hand the police is a huge risk but she decides to take it to find and maybe save her missing friend Talia. The problem was that Mack was constantly making really dumb decisions and being far too obvious in her deception and sneaking around. At times I wanted to grab her and say “Hey, be smarter and way more discrete or you’re going to get yourself killed!” Thankfully she eventually smartened up and became more likable.

The hero of the story, Lachlan, was great right from the start. He has a very alpha male way to him. He’s controlling and dominating but the way he becomes so tender and loving with Mac had me melting for him.

Falling for each other only complicated things for Lachlan and Mac. Each has a goal in mind, a secret kept from the other and the closer they get, the more the lines seem blur. When it comes to the mob life, you never know what threats are lurking. Secrets and loyalties get tested. Lives are on the line. Possibly even an all out war. This story held my attention quite well, constantly having me wondering what would happen next!

The audio was great. Mack is from Boston and has a Southie accent which Tracy Marks nailed. Lachlan has an Irish accent. Tracy Marks also narrates Lachlan’s POV and surprisingly does a great job at it. I generally prefer a male narrator doing a male POV and a female narrator doing a female POV. This audiobook was one of the few exceptions for me though where a single female narrator worked for both the male and female POV’s. I felt like everything the author was trying to convey was captured well through the narrator - the many accents, the emotions, the intense scenes. A job well done and a great start to an addicting series!

I have mixed feelings about this one. I listened to the audiobook. The narrator was well chosen for the character I suppose but I had a hard time getting past her girly innocence. Granted that’s exactly what Chandler wanted, a virgin 18 year old glaring with purity. Seven days to be his muse, to do everything just as he says, no questions asked. During the scenes the narrator’s voice was more acceptable but both the before and after of her arriving at the private island were rough. I kept picturing the young teenage actress from Everything Everything. She sounded just so sweet, adorable and teenage that it was at times hard to place her voice in the set up of the story. Imagine the actress from Everything Everything being cast as the lead in 50 Shades...doesn’t quite work, right? Even at the end the character’s immaturity was a little annoying. Regardless, the steamy scenes had me hooked! They were hot, naughty and downright sinful.

Two teammates, one an old best friend, the other one calls dibs. It’s Game On between these two alpha males to win Emerson’s heart.

I generally don’t like love triangles because they frustrate me but this one kept me hooked. Sanchez is the fun loving guy everyone is friends with. Miller has a chip on his shoulder but is an otherwise decent guy. Emerson is ex best friends with Miller. At one point she was even in love with him but he left her broken hearted and never looked back. Years later they’re thrown together and forced to face that old love and pain again. Except Miller isn’t the only guy trying to win her heart. Sanchez is completely enamored by Emerson the moment he meets her. He’s invaded her space and is slowly trying to capture her heart. Which guy will she ultimately fall for? There’s a whole lot of tension between these three that’ll have you holding your breath at moments.

This was a great start to RVD’s new series. I loved all the characters and it introduced characters who will be next in the series. At moments my heart was breaking, others it had me laughing out loud. The audio narration was great. The narrators really captured the characters and moments.

Pearl has been given a chance to make $100,000 in a single month. The catch? Sign on the dotted line and quietly accept every single sordid thing that happens while she is at the Fox Pit. With the temptation of that money, she can’t resist.

The story is intriguing and the scenes are utterly steamy, but it will ultimately leave you wondering what in the world is happening!? All that intrigue and allure will keep you turning page after page wondering what the women at the Fox Pit have gotten themselves into.

The audio narrator’s voice is amazing. She has a soothing tone for the heroine but it becomes so deep, rumbly and seductive when she’s speaking for a male. She doesn’t just read the book, she becomes the characters, mimicking their stutters or yells, even their moans. I was enthralled by her narration.

I was really excited to get Luke and Jane’s story. It’s a second chance romance that will have you falling for both characters. Ten years have separated these two but neither one has ever had the other very far from their mind. Luke has maneuvered events so that he and Jane will be working together closely for the next several months. Escaping Luke’s charms and dirty words soon become impossible for Jane. Not wanting to taint her growing reputation in the movie industry they decide to keep their rekindled relationship under wraps. But a connection and infatuation as strong as theirs isn’t easy to hide. Heat filled glances and stolen kisses are bound to be noticed eventually.

“Resisting him is still something I struggle with, and I don’t have the energy to keep up appearances right now.”

I have both read the ebook and listened to the audiobook. Both ways the story is good. Both narrators are enjoyable to listen to and do a good job capturing the emotions of the characters. A slight issue that I had with the audiobook was with the random flashbacks. These happen right in the middle of a scene, usually without much of a lead-in. The flashbacks are easily identified in the ebook with the entire flashback being in italics. However in the audio, there’s nothing written in the book to signal the flashback, so when listening there’s no distinction letting you know it just randomly jumped to a flashback. I realize the narrators had to stick to the exact writing but each time it happened it threw me off until I realized what was happening. An example is below...

“Why are my hands sweating? It’s Jane. My Jane. The girl I’ve loved almost half my life. The girl I’ve known since we were sixteen… “We’re gonna be busted, Luke.” She rubs her hand over my leg. She’s nervous, which adds to her excitement.”

Half of that is currently going through his mind / happening and half of that is a flashback. You can see how listening to that and not having italics doesn’t really clarify which part of it is a flashback, it could easily make sense to all be currently happening. Even still, that’s just a slight thing and otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the audiobook.

Ooh what a dirty little book! It was a fresh and addicting story. The story is written from three character POV’s. Emma’s ugly past has left her needing to be desired and wanted. Cooper is the charming, witty, instantly lovable brother. Gavin is more growly and closed off but you can see the torment beneath his eyes. There’s something haunting him.

Gavin and Cooper run a large escort service along with their older brother called Forbidden Desires. Every morning Emma has been eyeing the mysterious Gavin for months and finally she makes a move. Showing up at his company she winds up agreeing to be an escort exclusively for both Gavin and Connor. She’s lusted after Gavin for so long but opening up is hard for him when he’s been guarded for so long. Connor is the complete opposite. So patient and attentive. The drama that ensues between these three is addicting and will have you fully immersed in this book. With this being part of a Duet their story and drama continues in the next book Dirty Little Promise.

The audiobook version really impressed me. I loved the narrators. They did a great job capturing the emotions and feelings of the characters. There’s only one minor thing I would have preferred to be different. The chapters switch between three point of views, two males and one female yet there’s only one male narrator doing both male point of views. I would’ve preferred there to be separate male narrators for each male point of view. Regardless of that, I thoroughly enjoyed the narrators and listening to this story. Having great narrators can make or break a book and besides the great storyline, the narrators had me sold just by their performances.

Sweet Talk is one of those lighthearted feel good stories that you’ll instantly fall in love with. Back in college Danny and Reese dated but soon life got in the way of their relationship and things between them ended. Now it’s 10 years later and Danny is surprised to find out he’s signed on to a modeling campaign with the company Reese works for. Not wanting to let her out of his sights again Danny is trying to convince Reese for a second chance. The problem is that being together is currently a breach of contract between her company and him as their hired model. Between the well written characters, their chemistry, a good storyline and a dash of drama you won’t want to put this one down.

The audio narration of Sweet Talk is done in a Duet style which I personally like. Chapters switch between the hero and heroine’s POV and with this style narration the male narrator does all the male speaking parts and the female narrator does all the female speaking parts, regardless of the current POV. Danny and Reese dated 10 years ago so this story has flashbacks of their relationship throughout. Personally I’m not able to listen to audiobooks straight through in one sitting. I listen to audiobooks throughout the day at work and usually over a couple days with frequent pausing. With this book jumping back and forth so much (flashbacks from 10 years ago to present day) I would sometimes get lost when I started up listening again. If I hadn’t listened for a couple hours or even a couple days when I would start again I wondered if I was listening to a flashback or present day. It would sometimes make it a little confusing figuring out how far they’d progressed in their relationship for a couple minutes. Regardless I thoroughly enjoyed the story and listening to it on audio.
