Excellent All Around

An absolutely beautiful book about loss, life, and renewal. Savannah writes so beautifully that you feel like you are there which is rare to find. Adding just enough detail without over doing it. Explaining characters and scenes was expertly done and I felt like a 17-year-old female going through grief. Which is as wonderful as it is heartbreaking. All of the characters were interesting and had good-ish growth. Her sentence structure and depth in her writing is truly beautiful and hard to find. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Her narration was also excellent putting just the right emotion in her characters and was easy to follow who was saying what. Highly recommend.

Absolutely worth your time.

I bought this off a whim. Still not entirely sure that I would like it. Went in with very low expectations. But man. Once I got started I deeply enjoyed the entire book. From the universe to the characters to the action. At times there were some things that I rolled my eyes at. But that’s because its target demographic. Overall if you enjoy scifi you’ll enjoy this. Voice acting was also good.

I don't normally write reviews for books. I also won't make this too long. I've read and watched a ton of fantasy. Massive nerd. This ranks in my top 5 ever of anything I've ever watched or read. Simply spectacular. The writing is top notch and Nick Podehl does an amazing job at Narrating. I cannot wait for the third and hope it doesn't turn into Game of Thrones where the book is never written as some are saying. Because I'm craving from deep inside my soul the third chapter.

I deeply enjoyed this book. Went through it in about a day or two. I enjoyed the story. Will get the second book. Character depth is sort of there. But dialogue at times leaves a lot to be desired along with silly emotional responses. At other times is strong and enjoyable. Also, at times very repetitive in the sense of when he uses adrenaline rush. Like we get it. Please stop saying the same response every time.

A rare gem.

If you’re a nerdy dude like me who enjoys origin stories and overcoming psychological and physical trauma you’ll love this book. Each character feels consistent and there is a good amount of depth. Ending could have been a bit better but sets up the next book.
