I prefer reading this more than listening

I've read it before, but this time around I couldn't get that into it as I did when I first read it. It is technically a really good story! Might be because it's an audiobook. There was only one narrator in this one, in contrast to the Emma audiobook I listened to prior to this. Some of the character voices were a little annoying.

A classic, but not that great

Emma is a young woman who doesn't really know much about life, and since she introduced her old governess to the man she married, she thinks she can be a matchmaker. She ends up messing things up. All the relationships in this story are pretty confusing, but everyone gets a happy ending.
Jane Austen was clever, and I do like 19th century literature, but I guess from the modern perspective this story isn't very exciting.
As for the audio drama itself, it was pretty good, my only complaints are the repetitive music and that the girl who plays Harriet often obviously sounds like she's reading, and not acting.

A holiday read suitable for children

I was a huge fan of the Anne series as a kid, but I haven't read the sequels to the first book since back then. That might actually be part of why I didn't find find this very interesting, cause I wasn't familiar with many of the characters. The stories themselves weren't super interesting either, and I think this would be more suitable as a holiday read for children.

Like it was a real Victorian novel!

Fairly decent story, it reads like it was written in the Victorian age, and is well written.
Not much of a fan of the narrator. His speed was alright, but he sounded surprised most of the time, it didn't sound like there was a period at the end of the sentences. And he pronounced ''Appersett'' in a way I found annoying.

A little disappointing

We already meet Tessa and Sebastian again, which I was excited about, but I was a little disappointed with this short. They already went through stuff in their own book, and now they face even more obstacles. I just feel it wasn't necessary, and could have been done so much better. I would rather have gotten to know them more.

The author possibly putting herself in the story?

I'll give this a 3.5. We met Roxy in the short The Vampire's Valentine Surprise, and I was wondering if that was the author's way of inserting herself into this universe. I wonder how much is autobiographical. Either way, it's a pretty fun story.

Super cute short reunion with Delaney and Hugh!

The first couple of the series stars in this short, and it was nice to see them again (more than mentions in other books). I guessed the surprise right away, and would really like another book or short on them!

Not for the fainthearted - Bonnie & Clyde

I thought I'd try another book by this author, but this one didn't really catch me. A young woman is kidnapped, and ends up falling in love with one of her guards - and he with her. They both have troubled pasts and nothing to lose, and I guess that's what makes them fit for each other. It's a very Bonnie & Clyde story, and needless to say, it's very brutal. Not for the fainthearted. Didn't like the narrator, he sounded very monotone at times, and I couldn't take his ''dramatic'' reading seriously.

I'll give this 2.5 stars, I couldn't really get into it. It was so short, so there wasn't that much of a plot.
