The author recently uploaded a new version of the audio that fixed complaints folks had with the editing. Give it a listen!

I loved this book as much as I have every other entry, and had me laughing out loud multiple times. And Campbell's ability to weave multiple seemingly unrelated plots into the perfect ending is as good as always here.

This story is pretty much Takeshi's Castle in LitRPG form, and I'm here for it. Can't wait for the third book.

After waiting 4 books for Zach to finally go up a single grade, in a system with grades from F to A, this is what we get? This was the most disappointing power upgrade ever.

There's something to be said for not having the main character progressing too quickly. But if you are going for a slow progression story like we are doing here, each hard earned advantage must be distinct and interesting. Meanwhile the E-Grade classes Zach has worked so hard to come by offer zero initial benefits; only quests for benefits 'some day.' And other advantages he gains during this book are just more boring re-skins of existing skills he already had.

I don't know if I can keep reading this series if this is the pace it wants to progress.

Starts out a bit cringey in the first couple hours, but after that the book s definitely hits its stride. If the book was as good at the beginning as it was at the end I would have given this a perfect score.

Other than that, a pretty funny and exciting meta litRPG book.

I expected the Magnum Opus of the Ender Series to be similar in tone to Project Hail Mary. Two sides with vastly different viewpoints come together to solve a problem with a virus.

Instead, the book so far has been more like Project Save Ender's Failing Marriage. Not the book I wanted to listen to. Nor one I wish to continue.

Also, these really talented narrator's all give the worst performance I've ever heard from any of them. But with the lazy edits added in, I daresay the studio that produced this audiobook is to blame.

Book 4 of this series develops upon everything laid out in the last 3 books. The amazing ending to book 4 making the entire series better than just the sum of its parts.

If you haven't started this series, give it a shot. The series is great, but book 4 was absolutely amazing.

Basically the story from Book 2 all over again

Jason is back at it again. Going to another dungeon, just like he did in book 2. This time the main antagonist is another god instead of a Game master. I wish Bagwell had gone with more of an adventure theme instead of another dungeon crawl.

The theme of deconstructing the MMO genre is seemingly absent as well. Unlike in book 2 with the exploits used by Jason to clear the dungeon, this was a fully traditional dungeon crawl.

I had to struggle to finish this book, which is a shame because I couldn't stop listening to Book 1, and Book 2 was pretty entertaining. At least the editing and narration for this book are spot on.

What did you love best about The District: A Futuristic Dungeon Core?

The ideas in this book are very original and very compelling. I loved listening to The District. I can't wait for the next books to be converted to audiobook.

Any additional comments?

Please Skyler get someone else to help edit your book or slow down in your writing speed a bit. The story is good, but there are so many plotholes that arise from missed details.

*Spoilers here, reader beware*

Here are two examples of missed details I remember. There was the time Emma remarks that she cannot increase Miss Gobble's intelligence, but she then immediately raises her intelligence (among other stats).. Or the time that Magpie was kidnapped, and about 5 minutes later Emma is talking to her again.

Great book all around. Story sometimes wanders to examine the ramifications of the new technologies introduced in the story. This does not ruin the story in any way, it just reminds me greatly of the writings of Isaac Asimov.

Loved this story. It feels very similar to the Culture series, if the ships weren't omnipotent.

Happily awaiting the next entry in the series.
