Historia
Is there more than one history of the world? This is the question Pierce Moffett is seeking to answer when, jilted and newly jobless, he gets off a bus by chance in the Faraway Hills and steps unawares into a story that has been awaiting him there. His search will bring him into contact with Rosie Rasmussen, another seeker marked by loss. And it will lead them both on a path toward the longed-for country of our oldest dreams and most unanswerable desires, toward a magnificent discovery.

Brought here by RBPPIF, and thank goodness for it

I remember the first half an hour or so just confused me, as I was expecting something else, or at least was not used to this form. Once I had the flow I started again and wow. The worst thing about this was having to stop every couple hours or so to, you know, be present. To be honest, I've heard better "readers" but it is quite something to have an author take on that role. Beautiful, absolutely.

Historia
Few ancient ruins capture the imagination like the mighty holy site of Tiwanaku, located on the high Andean altiplano plateau outside of La Paz, Bolivia. Unlike some ancient sites, such as Machu Picchu in neighboring Peru or Chichen Itzá in Mexico, Tiwanaku has never been “lost”; on the contrary, it has been marveled over for centuries by Incan nobles, Spanish Conquistadores, modern backpackers, and UFO fanatics alike. Despite this history of amazement, Tiwanaku has remained something of an enigma until recently, but it appears that this would have probably been pleasing to its creators. It was created to be a mysterious, sacred, and beautiful place, one with many secrets and a public face characterized by PT Barnum-like showmanship.

Worth listening to before visiting the site
Revisado: 02-19-19
Very interesting, though I would have appreciated a little more focus on the evidence in the story, though it would make the book a loooooot longer as there is much discussed. Worth listening to before visiting the site. Seemed to have some rare but forgivable editing mistakes (the worst of which was once stating the town of Tiwanaku is located in Peru). The narrator also struggled a little with some of the words sometimes "a" with "u" on words he's already said correctly several times before, also not the most exciting individual, but easy to follow.
