Historia
In 2017, a routine network television investigation led to a story only whispered about: one of Hollywood’s most powerful producers was a predator, protected by fear, wealth, and a conspiracy of silence. As Farrow drew closer to the truth, shadowy operatives, from high-priced lawyers to elite war-hardened spies, mounted a secret campaign of intimidation, threatening his career, following his every move, and weaponizing an account of abuse in his own family.

Great reporting, but could do without cringy accents
Revisado: 08-22-23
This book was incredibly well researched, written and I am glad I listened to it, as it’s important work.
I just wished someone would have told Ronan to SKIP the accents. At best, they are bad accents, at worst they come across as a bit racist. They also undermine the integrity of the people whose stories he is trying to tell. I’m gonna assume he had good intent, but Christ that was hard to listen to.

Informative but circular, boring
Revisado: 02-02-23
Overall it was an intensely boring listen, and the second half of the book seemed to be just repetition of the first half. It didn’t make me care about Robert Indiana, and I didn’t really care about anything else that happened. Elder abuse is terrible, but somehow this book made it seem blasé.

Historia
Still recovering from the shocking revelations they uncovered deep in uncharted territory in the Grand Canyon, American myth and legend investigator Nolan Moore and his team take on a new mission, investigating a rumored case of witchcraft and possession. Nolan hopes their new case, in a quaint village in the middle of the woods, will prove much more like those he and his team investigated prior to their trip to Kincaid's cavern.

Great book, sometimes awkward narration
Revisado: 02-12-22
Great book! I can tell that the narrator was chosen because he really embodied Nolan, but his accent for Ken is so far from British that it sounds like a parody. It veers from Mid-Atlantic to bad imitation of an Australian accent.
Overall the narration is good, but I was occasionally taken out of the story due to this. If the accent had been consistent or closer to being British, I would have given 5 stars.

Amazing listen!
Revisado: 02-06-22
Loved it from start to finish.
My ONLY complaint is there is a moment when the actress playing Mal (the only American accent) says "Yur-EYE-Nul" when trying to say "urinal." Very strange and someone should have told her and re-recorded it.

This is a 2 hour long audible ad
Revisado: 05-27-20
Don't download this. There are other originals that are more worth your audible escape membership. It is exceedingly annoying, full of pop-culture references and absolutely no storyline even 20 minutes in (that's ~10% of the book). All the "main character" keeps talking about is how his other book is a best selling book on Audible.com. I know that doesn't make much sense, but maybe that will help you understand why I noped tf out of this one.
