Historia
Thousands of people have had near-death experiences, but scientists have argued that they are impossible. Dr. Eben Alexander was one of those scientists. Neurosurgeon Alexander knew that NDEs feel real, but are simply fantasies produced by brains under extreme stress. Then, Dr. Alexander’s own brain was attacked by a rare illness. The part of the brain that controls thought and emotion shut down completely. For seven days he lay in a coma. Then Alexander’s eyes popped open. He had come back. Alexander’s recovery is a medical miracle. But the real miracle of his story lies elsewhere.

Challenges Convention
Revisado: 03-04-13
Mostly enjoyed this book as it called on emotions and challenged preconceived ideas or long-held truths. While I may not agree with this author's perspective in whole, I enjoy being challenged as to my beliefs and why I hold them.
A bit longwinded at times, but worth pursuing to the end.

Historia
Guy Montag was a fireman whose job it was to start fires....The system was simple. Everyone understood it. Books were for burning...along with the houses in which they were hidden. Montag enjoyed his job. He had been a fireman for 10 years, and he had never questioned the pleasure of the midnight runs, nor the joy of watching pages consumed by flames...never questioned anything until he met a 17-year-old girl who told him of a past when people were not afraid.

Timeless Application
Revisado: 03-04-13
Enjoyed rereading a classic story, written to engae you and make you think outside the designated box. Be careful world, some of this book rings so true for America today. We must always learn from the past so as to not relive the same mistakes in the future. There is a cost to freedom...but it is worth it.

Excellent wisdom for today
Revisado: 03-04-13
Practical commonsense approach to relationships, even difficult situations. Wisdom for a world more prone to pop a pill than work through life's challenges.
