the narration style is the same barely a break between scenes but this time it works. I'm sure I've gotten a bit accustomed to the style as much as I also feel there are some subtle tricks being used to make it work. all I can say is it a great follow-up to the first volume highly entertaining can't wait to start the next one.

this is a great story but the reader needs to take a breath between scenes. they run together so tight it often takes listing a second or even third time to find out where the scene change happened. Even a momentary pause would be sufficient. there are a couple of places in the story where this fast change approach actually supports the story , but overall especially in the beginning led to confusion, at least for me . the voice acting itself though is quite good and presented in an overall enjoyable way. if the pacing could be fixed in post editing I think it would be a five star performance all around.

if you're coming to the series fresh just know the first book is a bit of an effort, but it promises is a huge world in the style of a Sanderson or Jordan. story really opens up in this book and reveals many of the twists hinted at earlier. well worth the investment of attention.

Of course this guy can write, he's a machine. But, much of any film's primal emotion flows from it's musical score. Sanderson's polypanoramic worlds of worlds are given a deeper, more dramatic soul, via the music of Reading and Kramer. To you both, Thank you

As the title indicates this is a very high level overview of the energy industry, technology and political concerns. If you have a background in this topic you might find it too cursory. I, not having a deep understanding of the topic, found lots of good information and leads for further study. The material was very approachable. One area I found particularly interesting was the comparisons of energy efficiency between the various types of power sources and what it takes to tap into that source. This gave me a better sense of why some fuel sources dominate currently and what factors would allow us to take up other sources such as renewables.

A fitting and grand ending. Jordan and Sanderson don't disappoint. For such a large series it definitely feels like saying goodbye but one heck of a ride!

Personally I felt Sanderson was a great addition to the series even if under somber circumstances.

Kudos gentlemen, well done!

I don't normally write reviews but this deserves some mention considering not much has been said on this "lecture". I put that in quotes cause it doesn't quite capture this work, but is the closest thing that comes to mind.

First based on mixed reviews I have to concede this approach may not work for everyone. For myself I was able to commit all 118 elements to memory in 4 sessions. I took on one session per day and reviewed it a couple of times that day as best I could remember. This allowed me to practice recovery of previous sessions and reinforce the memory on subsequent days.

What I find valuable is not the raw assets, aka the elements themselves, but the general techniques which I plan on applying elsewhere to see how well this can be recreated. Based on what I experienced with a bit of practice it feels very transferable to other lists.

I want to point out a few key things, lists are not knowledge in and of themselves, but they do make solid basis for attaching and retaining facts that can aide experience. This is a technique for holding lists in memory and indexing them, jumping to certain points in that list and being able to recall "nearby" elements.

As a tool for this purpose I'd say the author does an admirable job of teaching the basics. For me this represents a starting point for taking on additional memory techniques. Keep those constraints in mind if you are considering this work.
