Like listening to a mundane ordinary story
Revisado: 04-26-20
The Dearly Beloved had potential to grow into a mesmerizing story of connection and faith instead, I felt like I was being bored to tears by listening to a distant relative depict someone's past that you had no connection with and a story that would not end. It was blah and nothing to keep your attention. I plowed through it hoping the the story would ignite but indeed it did not and wanted the reader wanting more. The author used characters that were generic and for ministers seemed to not be committed what it means to be a Christian. I don't think Jesus was brought into the story once. That's disappointing. Generic is the theme of the book

Historia
In the predawn hours of March 4, 2002, just below the 10,000-foot peak of a mountain in eastern Afghanistan, a fierce battle raged. Outnumbered by Al Qaeda fighters, Air Force Combat Controller John Chapman and a handful of SEALs struggled to take the summit in a desperate bid to find a lost teammate. Chapman, leading the charge, was gravely wounded in the initial assault. Believing he was dead, his SEAL leader ordered a retreat. Chapman regained consciousness, alone with the enemy closing in on three sides, beginning the most difficult and exceptional fight of his life.

Good Book too technical
Revisado: 03-02-20
This book contained a fascinating story but was lost by the author’s use of too many technical military acronyms.
