Historia
Michael Crichton, creator of Jurassic Park, ER, Twister, and Westworld, had a passion project he’d been pursuing for years, ahead of his untimely passing in 2008. Knowing how special it was, his wife, Sherri Crichton, held back his notes and the partial manuscript until she found the right author to complete it: James Patterson, the world’s most popular storyteller.

Almost unlistenable
Revisado: 08-11-24
The story was predictable and contrived, the characters cliche and the performance was horribly corny and old fashioned, making the characters even more lame.

Breaking the Incredible Hulk Trope
Revisado: 08-08-24
What I did enjoy was that the typical Incredible Hulk/Rambo storyline, where reacher walks into the town, law-enforcement instantly makes him the bad guy, etc., not the way the story went right upfront. It was a good story, but a bit predictable, as I guessed who the bad guy was within the first hour of the book. Reacher is usually two or three moves ahead of everyone around him, but he seemed slow on the take and dull-witted in his observations. He lost more than he gained and this story was strange and kind of pointless in many ways which left me scratching my head at the end thinking, “what did I just listen to?“. Ah well, they can’t all be winners! On the the next!

Historia
In this conclusion to his trilogy of authoritative books on Canada's most beloved and successful rock band, Martin Popoff takes us through three decades of "life at the top" for Rush's Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart. Though this era begins with the brisk-selling Roll the Bones and sees throngs of fans sell out international tours, there is also unimaginable tragedy.

The Measure of Three Lives.
Revisado: 06-23-24
These three books are an awesome breakdown of Geddy, Alex and Neil’s lives, inspirations and loves over four decades. Interviews with the people who were integral in helping the boys create their magic blend of music.
This collection of interviews and writings was very well done and presented in a wonderful and engaging way. I breezed through all three books in one week!
While I did enjoy the perspectives of those people who were there, in the moments, I did find Popoff’s insertion of interpretation of the albums, likenesses to other bands, etc., as fact or common opinion, a bit irritating.
Regardless I thought I knew all there was to know about the band and yet I still learned new, interesting facts.

Historia
Ex-military policeman Jack Reacher is a drifter. He’s just passing through Margrave, Georgia, and in less than an hour, he’s arrested for murder. Not much of a welcome. All Reacher knows is that he didn’t kill anybody. At least not here. Not lately. But he doesn’t stand a chance of convincing anyone. Not in Margrave, Georgia. Not a chance in hell.

Great story told told by a too-old narrator
Revisado: 02-24-24
I enjoyed reading the story after having seen season, one of Joe reacher on Amazon. I wanted to see what the novel offered. It was a perfect translation from book to screen. The narrator, however, left much to be desired. I never imagined a story being told by an old man, and it put me off a bit. He is a great narrator. I just don’t believe he’s great for the reacher series. I see that he’s done a bunch more, so I’m not sure if I’m going to listen to them.

Getting better and better
Revisado: 07-15-23
Book three is a great story that poses more questions than answers, tying up some nagging questions from the first two novels and setting the stage for a much grander adventure for Mr Hunt and his adventurer’s backpack! The stakes are higher and the status quo is, well, no longer quo! I’m enjoying this series more and more and looking forward to jumping into book 4 next!
