Historia
Traditionally, American Jews have been broadly liberal in their political outlook; indeed African-Americans are the only ethnic group more likely to vote Democratic in US elections. Over the past half century, however, attitudes on one topic have stood in sharp contrast to this group's generally progressive stance: support for Israel. Despite Israel's record of militarism, illegal settlements, and human rights violations, American Jews have, stretching back to the 1960s, remained largely steadfast supporters of the Jewish 'homeland'.

Great Content Awful Narrator
Revisado: 10-23-24
In typical Finkelstein fashion, the book is full of facts and concise and usually inescapable conclusions wherever the facts lead.
The narrator is awful, mispronouncing many words. He pronounces "nuclear" like George W. Bush and it's unforgivable. He reads like a robot at 1.5 speed.

Historia
The Grand Hotel is a horror novel by esteemed best-selling author Scott Kenemore ( Zombie, Ohio) that takes the reader on a thrilling ride through an interconnected series of stories narrated by the desk clerk and the residents of the hotel itself. And while it is not known whether or not the desk clerk is actually the devil incarnate, it is strange that so many visitors who come for a tour of the hotel have a way of never leaving.

This book is such a great look at the heyday of Atari, it's culture and the fall of the industry. it's written with such great humor and do well read, I found myself laughing often and sometimes hard. I love Howard's way if putting things and he's got a good delivery. Tons of amazing stories.

Historia
As a devastating hurricane approaches, as the benighted creations of Victor Helios begin to spin out of control, as New Orleans descends into chaos and the future of humanity hangs in the balance, the only hope rests with Victor's first, failed attempt to build the perfect human. Deucalion's centuries-old history began as the original manifestation of a soulless vision - and it is fated to end in the ultimate confrontation between a damned creature and his mad creator. But first they must face a monstrosity not even Victor's malignant mind could have conceived.

Great Story but Narration Lets it Down
Revisado: 05-19-21
I love everything about the Black Sheep Squadron and this book is no different. Very informative and written from an insider perspective, it provides a good picture of the Pacific war. However, the narrator doesn't seem to know what a period or comma is supposed to mean and it feels like one long run-on sentence. The upside is the book is done in record time!

Historia
Cat Mojo is the confidence that cats exhibit when they are at ease in their environment and in touch with their natural instincts - to hunt, catch, kill, eat, groom, and sleep. Problems such as litter box avoidance and aggression arise when cats lack this confidence. Jackson Galaxy's number one piece of advice to his clients is to help their cats harness their mojo. This book is his most comprehensive guide yet to cat behavior and basic cat care, rooted in understanding cats better.

Chock Full of Good Ideas But....
Revisado: 09-19-19
To start with, this book gave me many very good ideas to help with some problems we've been having with our five cats, and one cat in particular. I will certainly be implementing many of the ideas in my efforts to help our loner cat to get along with the others. To be upfront, I've listened to several science-heavy books about cats and cat behavior so the language in this book was a bit off-putting and geared for a broader appeal. Mojo, mojofied, mojofication, catification all make me cringe and are used A LOT in the book. I'd have preferred more appropriate words like contented, confident, at-ease, etc... Despite this, I'd highly recommend this book as the knowledge is rooted in science and several prominent scientists are quoted. If you have a cat this should be on your list to listen to or read.

Historia
Dog owners know that dogs can be trained, but the idea of training rarely crosses cat owners' minds. But as best-selling anthrozoologist John Bradshaw and cat expert Sarah Ellis show, not only can cats be trained, but they absolutely should be to ensure a happy and healthy relationship between pet and owner. Once we comprehend cats' emotions and needs, we can train them to overcome their natural fears and anxieties.

Excellent Book for Training Cats to be Happier
Revisado: 09-10-19
This book literally changed the life of my cats and one in particular, very dramatically. In this book, you will learn about operant conditioning and counter-conditioning. Our newest cat came to our home on a temporary basis that became permanent. Unfortunately, she hates all of the other cats so has been relegated to an upstairs bedroom for several years. After reading this book I realized I could dramatically improve her life and so began the quest to get her to come downstairs and relax with us. So far progress has been amazing and with more time the reintroduction to the other cats will begin. Wonderful book!

Historia
Dogs have been mankind's faithful companions for tens of thousands of years, yet today they are regularly treated as either pack-following wolves or furry humans. The truth is, dogs are neither - and our misunderstanding has put them in serious crisis. What dogs really need is a spokesperson, someone who will assert their specific needs.

Extremely Informative with Latest Knowledge
Revisado: 07-24-19
This book was a superb presentation of the latest scientific knowledge about dog behavior. It's laid out in an easy to digest manner and I'll likely listen to it several more times as I listen when I'm driving and sometimes get distracted from the book. Oh, and the narrator is wonderful, but I've always been partial to a nice British accent. Best one I've heard yet.
