I didn’t think this was a book for me because it is so immersed in hockey but boy was I wrong! The relationships, the town, the term hockey as an adjective! Do not sleep on this book! I’m downloading the second book right now!

Best Fantasy Series Since The Hunger Games

I LOVED this series and could not stop reading. It begins with a poor girl, who is an orphan and destined to get married off to some old guy, who will help her adopted family gain more power for their opium business. But Rin has other ideas and at the moment we are on a roller coaster of emotions that is both terrifying and sometimes painful. The characters are incredible and you will love to hate them. Read this series if you’re having a book hangover or need some excitement in your life!

For the Romantic

I have loved Curtis Sittenfeld since Prep. Easily one of the funniest, snarkiest and great portrayals of a girl in a prep school over her head. I adored You Think it I’ll Say It. Another spot on clever, sharp and perfect adaptation of life as a city girl. Romantic Comedy was not what I expected and although that’s not a bad thing, I was waiting for the biting humor I’ve come to love about the author’s style of writing. It was definitely funny, I laughed out loud constantly. I was rooting for Sally and Noah, of course. I adored Henrietta and Viv and their back and forth with Sally. Nevertheless, there were times when I was kind of bored. I’m pretty sure the setting is a dupe of SNL. I wanted the bitchyness, which I don’t think was there in the same way her other books are, although I did enjoy American Wife. All in all, you can’t go wrong, especially if you love a good romance. I just prefer mine a little darker.

If you’re having a SJM hangover this is the book for you! The beauty is it’s also a series. Great world building and characters! There’s devils, witches and a host of unsavory characters. Plus a love story! Trust me, read it!!

I loved the book, and I could not put it down. There was so much to relate to, especially if you were born in the 60’s. Treat yourself! You won’t regret it!

Stunning

I am literally weeping! I could not put this book down. The story is incredible, especially the way the narrators weave in and out forming a tale, which is gripping and powerful. The family dynamic is eerie and often bordering on abusive. I don't want to give too much away, but if you like books with a twist, spend that credit now!

If you could sum up Truly Madly Guilty in three words, what would they be?

Easy, fun, guilty pleasure.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Actually, in some ways the story was predictable, and yet there were times when I found myself a little surprised and waiting to see whether or not my own predictions were correct.

What does Caroline Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She's amazing. Lee really captures the essence of each character. Without her wonderful accents, I'm not sure each person would be as defined.

Who was the most memorable character of Truly Madly Guilty and why?

Erica, she's the most complex character in the book.

Any additional comments?

Starts off a little confusing, but stick with it!

What did you love best about Hidden Bodies?

I adore Joe! I actually find myself rooting for a serial killer. He justifies his madness and twists it around. I don't want him to get caught! The writing is witty and clever. What a talented author.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hidden Bodies?

Without spoilers it's tough to say but there are quite a few moments where I was surprised.

Have you listened to any of Santino Fontana’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have only listened to one, and it was You. As a narrator, Fontana is spot on with the character.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Again, I don't want to spoil the book for those reading the review and deciding whether or not to use a credit but I promise there are many moments in this book. BUY IT!!!
