Thank you Michelle Obama for writing this book. Incredible how many pieces of history were interwoven into this masterfully crafted biography. So honest, candid, and real. America was so lucky to have your family in the highest office for as long as you were. You are an inspiration.

In applaud Janet for sharing her story so candidly. As a cis woman, this book helped me to better understand the challenges trans women face. This book could be used as a textbook because I learned more from it than I did in many of my university level gender studies classes. Buy this book and read it. You’ll be happy you did.

White people need to read this book

This book has beautifully articulated what I have felt for so many years. Delving into the history is important because it highlights what isn’t taught in our school system. It addresses many of the fears white people (consciously or unconsciously) have about black people taking over the world, taking their jobs, whatever, and how those beliefs shape the world we live in. I particularly appreciated the way she addressed racism within biracial families (and white parents of biracial children). It is possible to hold racist views even if you have black friends, marry a black person, and have biracial children. I grew up around white people and found so many being actively and obviously racist while adamantly declaring they aren’t racist. It’s exhausting. Buy the book and read it.

White History as it is not separate from black history

This book should be featured in schools, specifically to educate about American history. It beautifully illustrates why so many white people seem to think racism is a thing of the past. It was intentional. This book gives context and history and helps us to understand why racial tension is still so high. You can’t heal centuries of human enslavement by telling black people to get over it while actively denying racism and discrimination still exists.

I loved this book! Great examples of how to identify if you’re an under earner and to help you overcome it. A great supplement to Secrets of Six Figure Women!

Mandatory reading for pregnant women

Lily has outdone herself in her latest book. She doesn't just tell you what to eat during pregnancy, she presents an incredibly well researched basis for every recommendation she makes. She questions the current nutritional guidelines, while providing you with ample evidence to explain why. Lily goes beyond food to discuss numerous critical topics of importance in pregnancy from toxin exposure and exercise to postpartum nutrition and breastfeeding. This is the book I wish I had during my first pregnancy, and if you happen to find this book before or during pregnancy, you don't know how fortunate you are.
