Pleasantly Surprised

Narrator wasn't bad. I enjoyed the book and now listening to book 2. I'm happy I gave it a chance.

Historia
With a famous NHL player for a stepbrother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation of many a hockey star. So of course she isn't interested in legendary team captain Alex Waters or his pretty, beat-up face and rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet's misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes much more than just a hot body with the face to match.

Wth did I just listen to?
Revisado: 02-20-20
I love a good book that has raunchy scenes but this gets so repetitive. I find myself wanting to skip half of the book and I'm only on chapter 12 and I made it that far due to having a long drive. Monster c*** and beaver was used way to much and remind you I'm only on chapter 12.
Violet was portrayed to be a good girl but in no way was she. It's irritating how high up her nose is compared to everyone else.
The slut shaming was ridiculous and made violet seem like she was in love with her step brother at times.
Also the consent got redundant. Violet never asked Alex for consent. The double standard just got on my nerves.
I don't think I can keep listening to this book. It did give some good chuckles in the beginning and with the opening thought I was going to love it. I really was hoping to find a series I could enjoy. It needs more story less sex and less repetitive words over and over and over.
I didn't mind the female narration but the Male made Alex creepy at times and his accent was all over the place and then he would throw in a "eh" to remind you he was supposed to be Canadian.
