Not a bad listen.
Revisado: 03-19-22
I use their audio to help with
my listening comprehension as a complement to the written coursework I am doing. The male voices aren't great but the female voices are pleasant and use accents that are easy to understand as a foreigner.

Historia
The Bible predicts that in the last days a charismatic leader will establish a global following in the name of peace. The Qur’an also predicts that a man will rise up to lead the nations, pledging to usher in an era of peace. The man in the Qur’an is called the Mahdi, or Islam’s savior. However, the man in the Bible is the Antichrist. Joel Richardson’s stunning research and analysis suggest that the Mahdi and the Antichrist are actually one and the same.

The coward wouldn't put his name on it.
Revisado: 12-18-21
Imagine if you could make a best-selling book just by copying and pasting passages from the holy books of the world's two biggest monotheistic religions. Turns out one coward found a way to do just that. God bless America...The only 'insights' offered by the author via his 'personal dialogue with muslims' are suspect as well considering that he won't even put his name on his work. Save your monthly Audible credit for a real book and get your fearmongering from a homeless doomsday-oriented street prophet like the rest of America.

A bloody revolt by a North African prince and a plot to seize control of Rome are the subjects of two short masterpieces of ancient history by the illustrious Roman chronicler, Sallust. He could not have chosen two more dramatic episodes in the long history of this city.

Poor chapter management
Revisado: 10-13-21
The quality of everything except table of contents is great. This publisher just blocks out time as "chapter 1/2) but no other information. I should he able to open the table of contentsand find the orations against catalone as a heading somewhere, but I don't. Instead you get to blindly click through each chapter hoping to find what you want. The narrator is great.

Historia
Julius Caesar wrote his exciting Commentaries during some of the most grueling campaigns ever undertaken by a Roman army. The Gallic Wars and The Civil Wars constitute the greatest series of military dispatches ever written. As literature, they are representative of the finest expressions of Latin prose in its "golden" age, a benchmark of elegant style and masculine brevity imitated by young schoolboys for centuries.

"modern translation"
Revisado: 10-05-21
This translator changed Caesar's commentaries from third person to first person. Many location names were also changed from latin to french "to make it easier" for us to understand. I was very disappointed. The narrator is great I own many works through Audible that he has narrated.

Historia
The Twelve Caesars was written based on the information of eyewitnesses and public records. It conveys a very accurate picture of court life in Rome and contains some of the raciest and most salacious material to be found in all of ancient literature. The writing is clear, simple and easy to understand, and the numerous anecdotes of juicy scandal, bitter court intrigue, and murderous brigandage easily hold their own against the most spirited content of today's tabloids.

Historia
Polybius wrote his Histories "to find out by what means and by what political system the entire world was brought under the domination of Rome." Within the short space of about 50 years Rome went from being a provincial leader of an Italian confederacy to become the Mistress of the Mediterranean. Polybius was one of the first historians to attempt to present history as a sequence of causes and effects, based upon a careful examination of tradition and a keen scrutiny of the facts.

Historia
Plutarch (c. AD 46-AD 120) was born to a prominent family in the small Greek town of Chaeronea, about 20 miles east of Delphi in the region known as Boeotia. His best known work is the Parallel Lives, a series of biographies of famous Greeks and Romans, arranged in pairs to illuminate their common moral virtues and vices. The surviving lives contain 23 pairs, each with one Greek life and one Roman life as well as four unpaired single lives.

Great narration
Revisado: 02-18-20
So I want to point out here that this is Plutarch's lives COMPLETE. Other audiobooks break it down into multiple parts but this version has it all and is 83 hours long. I admit that I have not yet finished the entire thing (it's 83 hours long) but the audio quality and the narrator are great. You know how the narrator can really make or break a title? This guy brings it home. If you're a history fan and have 83 hours free this title is probably for you.
