Historia
Eleven-year-old George Washington Black—or Wash—a field slave on a Barbados sugar plantation, is initially terrified when he is chosen as the manservant of his master’s brother. To his surprise, however, the eccentric Christopher Wilde turns out to be a naturalist, explorer, inventor, and abolitionist. Soon Wash is initiated into a world where a flying machine can carry a man across the sky, where even a boy born in chains may embrace a life of dignity and meaning, and where two people, separated by an impossible divide, can begin to see each other as human.

Lots of promise but not delivered
Revisado: 04-25-21
Feel the story was going on a direction and suddenly changed to a steady flat boring plot going no where. Not sure what happened but 70% of the book turned into a long unexcited narrative of things not related to the story. This is an overall impression I have.
Regarding the main character, I was also waiting to see him rise and turn into something solid but remained flat, dull and got worse but turn instead on an ungrateful bitter person.
Sorry if I sound harsh but a story can be harsh, cruel, violent, but still be good and powerful. There can be an empty gap at the end of any story but so many gaps just make the story slip away as sand in the hands.

Historia

Trying to hard
Revisado: 03-06-21
With all due respect, but it was a disappointment. Very inconsistent in the story. Too rushed and felt as the author wanted to compress in one book the idea of 20 books.
Tried too hard to mimic the now popular Game Of Thrones, but poorly executed. You need more than obscene words, sex, gore and violence to make a story good. All those elements can make a great book, but is not this one. Poor development of characters, storyline and plot. I finished it as I was too far in to stop but now that I have finish it, I do not recommend it. Rather repeat the read of a good book then read a bad imitation of one. Sorry.

Historia
In the stunning first novel in Marlon James' Dark Star trilogy, myth, fantasy, and history come together to explore what happens when a mercenary is hired to find a missing child. Tracker is known far and wide for his skills as a hunter: "He has a nose," people say. Engaged to track down a mysterious boy who disappeared three years earlier, Tracker breaks his own rule of always working alone when he finds himself part of a group that comes together to search for the boy.

Narrator and clearness
Revisado: 02-09-19
Narrator is difficult to understand. As an audio book, narrative should be clean and clear. Sometimes a heavy accent can be appealing on a tv show or movie to set the mood but in an audio book it should be clear and easy to listen for everybody.
Unfortunately this book has only one option at the moment and I had difficulties understanding the narrator. Will look for this audiobook in another app.
Thanks.
