Couldn't get into it at all.
Revisado: 04-03-17
What did you like best about Leviathan Wakes? What did you like least?
Fantastic idea. Did not meet expectations and the performance ruined it for me i think.
Would you be willing to try another book from James S. A. Corey? Why or why not?
Probably not, I forced myself to get through each chapter of this one. I don't have that kind of time...When I give a book, that take hours of my life to complete, a chance only to be bored the entire time it's usually a good sign that I won't be motivated to give them another shot.
How could the performance have been better?
Narration was very dry. There were moments where the action which is supposed to be exciting sounded like someone was waking up and getting out of bed. Tone did not match what was going on for the most part in my opinion.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Maybe. I think this story has potential but a bad performance or vision from a director can ruin it...like any adaptation I suppose.
Any additional comments?
In this case I think the audiobook ruined it for me. I stopped listening around chapter 15 and read the rest but could not get the narrators voice out of my head. Maybe i'll reread it years later after I've had a chance to forget this utterly boring performance.

Not the ending I wanted
Revisado: 06-27-16
Narrator is pretty good but not great. The ending was not what I was expecting or hoping for maybe the other books in the series make the story feel more complete.

Historia
There is no disputing that John Milton is considered one of the supreme writers in the history of English letters. Yet, for a number of reasons, many modern readers are unaware of the pleasures of his poetry and prose. These 12 lectures examine Milton's life and work in order to understand the richness and depth of his poetry, its ways of representing 17th-century English life and culture, and its impact on later writers and on English literary history as a whole.

Chapters need to be given titles!

Would you try another book from The Great Courses and/or Professor Seth Lerer?
It's really difficult to find which lecture you want to listen to when all it does is number the chapters.
What aspect of Professor Seth Lerer’s performance would you have changed?
nothing he is fine.
