The Last Chapter in a Fun Adventure

Not much to say, a nice ending to a whimsical character driven story, that I throughly enjoyed.

Cool Concept Bad Execution
Revisado: 03-15-23
I made it roughly half way through with alot of skipping after chapter 4. For about the first third of the book he does nothing but sit in his room complaining, nothing really happens and progression is non existent. The main character is incredible whiney, despite the flashbacks trying to showing how hard his first life was, it is how ever hard to care about his past when you just don't care about the mc.
Overall cool idea brought down by flashbacks you don't care about, overly long inner monologs, info/lore dumps one after another repeatedly, and an mc that never feels quite right for his supposed past.

Historia
Death and reincarnation. Kuroe Makoto, the tomboyish ace of her high school track-and-field club, never spared a thought for these things before. However, when she falls asleep in her Tokyo home after an exhausting marathon and wakes up in a fantasy world, those concepts become her reality. Unlike common light novel settings, she isn't reincarnated as the naturally good-looking and talented human hero who gathers a harem effortlessly. In fact, she isn't reincarnated as a human at all. She is reborn as "Chaos", child of the demon queen and heir to a kingdom at war with humanity.

Pretty Good
Revisado: 06-11-21
Chapter 1&2 were a bit annoying with how adamantly and frequently the MC claimed they were just in a dream but save one other spot (where the meta 4th wall joke with the doll just didn't work) the story was solid and made me interested to see what happens next, it's worth the read.

All Max wants is to become a climber and search for his long-lost sister. But citizens aren’t allowed to climb - they aren’t even allowed remotely in the vicinity of the mysterious and magical tower. Plus, even if citizens could enter, it didn’t change the fact that Max’s body is paralyzed from the waist down, confined to a wheelchair. No way would anyone let him enter the tower. Ever.

Mediocre, Not Terrible but Not Good
Revisado: 01-30-21
Not bad exactly, had an interesting premise, but a cool idea can't save bad writing. There were lots of plot holes in this book and everything was over the top and unrealistic certainly not the worst book ever, but story was poorly thought out.

Historia
Bilda FOH Smartown has the biggest civilization in Avila. He brings in billions in ad revenue. Everything is branded. For instance, you can partake of a foamy ale in the Troll and Tourniquet pub - sponsored by Texatron Auto-air, the cheapest deals on the best air cars - or pull the lever at the High Summer Hangings - courtesy of Blue Bird Neon. Perhaps you’d like to sponsor a battle and ride with the fiercest centaurs, or hire a bard and seduce a princess. Everything and anything has a price tag in Bilda’s empire. Revenue is king, and coincidently, so is Bilda.

Good Story, not for me.
Revisado: 01-20-21
The Story of this book was really interesting, that said I can not understate how much I hate the stupid turn based gimmick of this book. First if I was playing full immersive vr identical to real life with turn based pvp I would quit, Second it makes the dex stat useless, Third it actually disadvantages a group but the book trys to make it seem like it helps them, and etc. I mean, I wanted to like this book, but I can't even finish it (was about half through) the whole turn based combat just felt really dumb and like a way to differentiate this from other litrpg s, it's sad because the story was good and there aren't many civ building litrpg that go beyond a town or city and this one seemed like it might.

All life on Earth has been stolen away by The System. It was transported to another world at the behest of a distant galactic empire that lives in terror of humanity's potential. Ben - just a normal, if not slightly above average guy - had been about to go on the first real vacation of his adult life. But plans changed. Now, he must contend with danger and mystery in a world full of monsters, magic, and treasure. Armed with nothing but his wits and a special item given to him by The System, he embarks on a damn good adventure.

Revisado: 01-16-21
I really liked this book. Ben was relatable even if he didn't always make the best decisions, there's alot of funny moments and it plays around with some tropes and ideas that you see everywhere which I thought was cool, that said it can be a little meta I enjoy that kind of thing personally, but I thought it should be mentioned.

The Singularity - the merger of man and machine into a greater whole - is finally within humanity's grasp. When programmer Jeff Lawing gets the opportunity to join Singularity Online, the world's first realistic VRMMO and the testing ground that will lead to the Singularity, he leaps to accept. Singularity is much more realistic and darker than Jeff had imagined, though.

Not Bad
Revisado: 12-12-20
If you have nothing else to listen to give this a go. Overall the experience was mixed. Mostly it seems things were overly explained and I found my mind wandering to other thoughts then having to rewind to relisten to the last paragraph. The MC seemed just a little whiney early on and the slow pacing of the story doesn't lend itself to dungeon crawls which was a large part of the book. On a positive note the game system itself was indepth and interesting and the world lore seemed neat but I couldn't care about the plot much.

I don't mind romance or harem side plots, but four hours in and the only things we've done is talk about his stupid harem politics and how unhappy with his life he is. He just whines while changing nothing, idk if I'll be able to finish this book but if I do ill update my review.

Historia
Timothy Walter Bolton - better known as Timmy - has spent most of his life as a necromancer. When he isn't terrorising his enemies, he's plotting inside his castle, which is built on top of lightless chasms filled with nameless horrors and beings of a generally malevolent and megalomaniacal nature. But after one of his latest creations, a zombie hydra-dragon-bear, tries to eat him, he decides that maybe it's time to find a new, less dangerous, career.

Fun light-hearted adventure
Revisado: 11-21-20
I love both fantasy books and comedies, this is a great blend of the two. The story has a good balance between humor and plot. The next books maintain this trend, maybe leaning slightly more toward the story later on, they stay just as entertaining if not more so as you get to know the characters better and more are introduced. Overall I'd say it's just a good book for anyone looking to spend a couple hours laughing at/and with 2 Necromancer, an Elf, and a Bureaucrat.
