Historia
When Randy Pausch, a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon, was asked to give such a lecture, he didn't have to imagine it as his last, since he had recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. But the lecture he gave - "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams" - wasn't about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because "time is all you have... and you may find one day that you have less than you think").

A book that reminds you what matters most
Revisado: 04-27-08
It's the ultimate parenting book because it makes you realize how fortunate you are simply to be alive and well, and taking care of your kids. Through Randy Pausch's story of coming to terms with a life about to end, we receive a gift that few books could ever offer: the appreciation of one's own life and the treasure of knowing that every day you have more to give to those who matter most--your kids.

Historia
Take one bored princess. Make her the seventh daughter in a very proper royal family. Have her run away. Add one powerful, fascinating, dangerous dragon. Princess Cimerone has never met anyone (or anything) like the dragon Kazul. But then, she's never met a witch, a jinn, a death-dealing talking bird or a stone prince either. Princess Cimerone ran away to find some excitement. She's found plenty.

get the unabridged version!
Revisado: 03-11-08
Main recommendation: get the unabridged version. The abridged version is so chiseled--it feels like you go right from "set up" to plot summary, and then it's over.

A boy and his bear
Revisado: 02-23-08
I just loved reading this to my youngest boy, particularly during the K-2 period. Great story about the relationship between a boy and his bear as the bear begins to grow up and "cause trouble."

This is a great story of strangers overcoming adversity and suspicion and finding postive ways to bring out the best in people to be accepted into the community. Definitely fun and satisfying to read with your child.

Revisado: 02-23-08
This was by far my favorite John Feinstein book about Susan Carol and Stevie, maybe becuase I like tennis and the athletes are easier to relate to(they're not adult men.)

Even though I have no interest in basketball, this was still a great book because it was a really suspenseful mystery with blackmail and two teenage detectives.
